    1. i put this one on my bucket list after watching the Mike Cotty video from his excellent channel The Col Collective. Sadly he seems to not longer be uploading to it but it's worth binge watching for anyone that loves climbing 👍

    2. I have climbed this on two different occasions and loved it and its genteel Swiss cobbles. Both times at the top I saw the horse-drawn postal coaches that come up from both directions and exchange mail. Switzerland is a great country for cycling, with lots of secondary high-quality roads and breath-taking scenery. Thanks for reminding us all of how wonderful it is!

    3. The Gotthard is my least favourite Swiss mountain pass. There is usually a massive headwind when going up on the cobbled tremola road and the cobbles sap so much energy. The other side on the new road is a busy main road, it is not much fun to ride on. Plenty of other better options in Switzerland in my view. Having said that, it is still a pass that everyone should do once in their life due to the history.

    4. I can’t believe how little traffic you had on that descent Tristan. When I rode up it back in 2019 there was a constant stream of cars (lots of flash ones), motor bikes and rubber necking tourists playing with drones. Despite that it was a special and memorable ride and well worth doing. Thanks for video reminder 👍

    5. Descending on cobbles with a road bike is not enjoyable at all. I did it from Vršič pass to Kranjska Gora. 25 sections. I was just hoping my bike wouldnt fall apart.

    6. Stunning road and great video, enjoyed the first backing track too (second less so). But did I miss the part where you explain why no pro cycling race would go down it??

    7. Dude, what an awesome life you lead. No doubt you have worked very hard for it and continue to work hard, but kudos to you. So thanks, as we get to enjoy the good parts of it through your videos.
Swiss roads, unsurprisingly, look so smooth to ride. Beats the hell out of bumpy, potholed riddled Sydney… Keep up the great work. I went through Switzerland in the late 90's on a Contiki tour through Europe (showing my age) and it is such a beautiful country.

    8. Very important: If you are on top, you can take the new road for a few hundred meters until shortly before the first tunnel/galleria that can be seen in the first part of video (for example at 1:36). From this point, you get the best view on the Tremola Pass road from above. It's less than 50 meters down from the pass, so no big deal. I was there this summer. Usually there is a parking lot for the view but this summer there was a construction site. It still was possible to go to the edge and get a great view.
If you do both directions it is also a good idea to take the new road for the way down and Tremola for the way up.

    9. Thanks for the footage!🙏 I rate the day I rode over the pass and down the Tremolo as one of my life highlights. I was cycle-touring with my family and towing my 6 year old. We had such a great system where she would start breaking before the hairpins to give a little drag and then we’d coast around the bend and accelerate towards the next = ‘flow’ 😌. Thanks to you, now I have video to show folk when I’m banging on about that day…
