One Final Walk Around Wilko

In this video, we’re taking a look inside one of the last Wilko stores in the UK. Wilko is a well-known British retailer that’s closing down all of its stores after failing into administration and it truly is the end of an era in British retail.

As we walk around a store in Weymouth, Dorset, we discuss the importance of Wilko, why it’s closing and what it means for shopping in the UK. We also take a look at some of the unique features of this store, and how it’s been a part of British retail for nearly 100 years. Find out from their shoes they tried they went into menstruation trying to have takeover uh the take of it didn’t quite work you know it’s a situation where obviously everything is Like these racks as well so what did world currency sell well welcome as a bit of everything really it was like the homeware stuff the household items the cheats that you need Tupperware it was it was a place for everything over here used to be on the

DIY stuff as well it was just such a really vibrant storm that’s basically everything you needed if you were going to UNI any of those stuff for your uni house you can just go where I load plates loads of bowls and stuff or get a lot of Notepads for your studies and

Stuff for if you were doing DIY or just needed something to your bike you could just go here and get like um or just whatever and it was so so good steam cleaners and obviously of course this is Administration sale everything is like ridiculously cheap sorry Oh very sad okay a lot of times this bailed me out of the ears getting stuff like brand that’s been around for many hundred years now it’s just reduced to you know empty shelves and Get your garden on now guys and this is sort of stuff that well could have sold as well I mean nice nice homework stuff yeah wrapping here if you’re moving house or you just want to freshen up the house just come here get some nice fresh deco candles

New lamps blue lights so nice now it’s here we go Not quite the same picnics experience one of the Costa cup is included as well I’m walking around now there’s still a lot of people just walking around just seeing what Bargains you get and there’s more stuff in here than I thought it would be but then again

And actually for a half decent price I mean 10 pound even if I was for retail 20 Quinter although you can just go to work here and get like a another less pencil on for like two three grid but that’s part of the problem why okay I wouldn’t say

They are in and now I’m closing down I mean who wrote my mind to go in the hotel it’s gonna actually pay for this stuff but that just shows how everything literally must go any sort of places so how do I feel going around this place

But it’s just very sad I can’t I keep saying it’s really sad but it just shows how we’re buying stuff is changing and even quite a solid quite reliable retailer like welcome even now can go down and filming this just for documentary purposes and just seeing what it’s like inside just before it

Poses it’s really important I feel but it’s just really sad just to see what’s happening with the staff and other shops and and hopefully we’ll see some new community’s place you know the nice regeneration Visa these time centers and these shopping units but I somehow feel like this will just

Get turned into flights awesome Because downstairs are just changing they’re evolving there they’re no longer the destination where people go to get all their stuff they go to like retail parts or they go online shopping or they go to the next town over or County just go for like a nice shopping Village or District

They didn’t really get into town settings anymore but that’s been like paying to park and all these other barriers in the way to buy stuff in town is just just no way unfortunately and that’s the thing about lovely stores now is something I’ve been by ironically their Rivals like poundland

And some of their stores and run where I live are going to be actually become poundlands but this one we don’t know what’s going to happen and a few hundred over 100 odd stores we don’t know what’s happened to them so we don’t know if these stores will stay barren

Positively made the flights or 10 is something completely different it’s also like a wide offense discussion about what’s going to happen to the state of High Street if these major brands are one by one closing down they can’t competing from themselves can’t produce Rivals but now what happens to High
