Countries and oil companies at the UN climate talks have promised to make major progress in tackling global warming in a large new energy pledge.

Around 100 countries promised to treble world renewable energy use by 2030.

And 50 oil and gas companies including Saudi giant Aramco pledged to stop adding to planet-warming gases by 2050.

That only covers emissions from production, not the burning of fossil fuels and critics said it would not meaningfully tackle climate change.

Now let’s turn to Dubai and the latest from the cop 28 climate Summit across the day we’ve been hearing from various world leaders and it’s been announced that at least 116 Nations have committed to tripling renewable energy capacity to combat global warming as our climate editor Justin rer

Reports the pope couldn’t make it here to Dubai his doctor forbade him from traveling but a cardinal read his words and it was strong stuff the D ction of the environment is an offense against God the need to tackle climate change is one of the key pillars of Pope francis’s

Papacy it has run a mar he said and he posed a question for the gathered leaders are we working for a culture of life or a culture of death to all of you I make this heartfelt appeal let us choose life let us choose the future some of the Pope’s demands are already

Being addressed by this Summit he said the world must move ahead with greater Energy Efficiency and more renewable energy we got pledges on both of those today we also got a new announcement for around 50 of the world’s oil companies including the world’s largest Saudi Arabia’s aramco they said they would

Drive down the carbon emissions from when oil is refined into petrol Diesel and other products to Net Zero by 2050 now that could reduce the carbon produced by a liter of petrol by up to 15% it won’t solve climate change but it’s better than nothing the world is

Expected to record an alltime record temperature this year with dire consequences warned the Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Motley it is a death sentence for many and the reality is that unless we change course we are going to see far more life loss and far more damage done tomorrow the focus here

At cop 28 turns to the impact of climate on health Justin rolat BBC News Dubai well columia announced it will join an International Alliance calling for a treaty to end use of fossil fuels well earlier I asked Colombia’s environment Minister Maria Muhammad why the situation of the international

Diagnosis of how we are doing right now with the increase of potentially 20% of emissions by 2030 in This Global revision so the reality is even though we are having targets to reduce emissions they are not reducing at the level that we are required and so we

Need to talk about the root cost of what is causing emissions and more than 80% is the use of fossil fuels this means that our position in at the cop is that we need to face out fossil fuels but the economic implications of this are huge for a country like Colombia that depends

On 60% of its income from export from coal and oil exports so the question is what are the international rules for us to be able to move out of this dependency and that’s why we are calling for a negotiated treaty that allow us to complement the international agreement

Of Paris so that we can have clear rules so that we can face fossil fuels and deal with economic consequences in a just and integrated Manner and Minister this is something that a lot of countries will be watching closely because there are many countries which rely on fossil fuels that want to

Achieve the same what do you think and what are you doing and planning as your first steps towards this goal well we have to develop whole sectors of the economy that could replace the income that the export of coal and the export of oil is producing to the colian

Economy this includes a portfolio of investment that we have released today at cop including nature based tourism we want to increase to 8 million visitors to Colombia but also the development of an export industry for renewable energy and industrialization in our country is are three key sectors including

Agriculture that we need to develop and this will take some time but the situation is that every time you talk about this energy transition this economic transition you see the financial system creating nervousness and with this nervousness creating uh the downgrade potential downgrade of the Colombian qualification the situation of

Uh increas in depth and increasing cost of capital for an economy like ours so that’s why we are calling for these two aspects to be used in the in the issue of international cooperation a treaty that allows to have secure economic conditions and at the same time H the

Debt for nature and action climate swap that we’ve been talking about for a year now and a lot of the discussions at the last few cop Summits and probably this year’s as well is about climate financing what kind of funding does your country want to come away from the summit

With we are talking about concessional funding but we are also talking about especially how can we release the foreign Debt Service that we need to pay every year it has increased in 30% and now a significant amount of our annual budget from the government has to be

Paid in foreign debt we don’t have a problem in paying the debt we are not a risk of not paying the debt but if we could through an international agreement we could will liberate part of that debt that we have to pay to be able to finance climate mitigation and

Adaptation and make this economic transition then we think we’re going to be able to have predictable and constant flow of resources so that we can make the public Investments that allow for the transition otherwise we may be putting targets here at C we make make announcement we can have international

Funds but the economic situations of the country will not allow them to make the transition and what we will have probably is an energy and economic transition that is not fair to all

  1. meanwhile islamist oil barons who fund wars globally once again will spend trillion on deregulating pollution registration and spreading misinformation about climate change and renewables

  2. Animal farming ie we have to step towards ban Dairy Industry and Animal Husbandry which related with Slaughter houses and Wine Industry is heavily cause for Global Warming and Climate Crises.
No other better option than the Vegan 🌱 lifestyle

  3. Pledges…meaningless. cash in hand, depending on the "hands", is a real commitment today!

Pledges, as we have seen time and time again are easily avoided when the cash is required.

Dear Best President Joe Biden and Jokowi, my best friend is the Rotschild family, Owner of Vanguard, Blackrock. This is not just a question of money for our climate change agenda, which we need 30 billion USD to receive at COP28, but this is a real investment for a better future. This big project to overcome Climate Change from us and myself is an innovation that is really needed to start being presented at COP28 in the UAE, Change to save 7.8 Billion human starts from here, and start realizing our Project, waiting for 30 Billion USD funds to us today December 02, 2023, It's time to start, we can't wait any longer, a joint commitment to save the world, we are leading this innovation with our team from the USA and Indonesia, from us to save the world

  5. Rules to reducing emissions are why so many countries are dragging their feet in the first place. Your either committed to the idea or your not safeguarding Columbia's economy does the opposite of help the environment

COP28 needs to declare too many people are being made and this needs to stop. The more people, the greater environmental impact.

If Pope Francis advocated contraception, populations could fall, and fewer people being born would mean less impact on the environment. Yet the Catholic Church gives out the opposite message.

  8. Listen up you climate nuts I'll agree we have a climate issue if the member's of the Paris accord, John Kerry and that sweet little Greta volunteer to be the first passengers on an all electric jet from New York to London non-stop.
If they agree then the fact they're all heavily invested in renewable energy is forr the good of the world not their bank accounts.
Let join forces to settle this climate controversy by getting them to commit.

  9. America and Europe (the West) have invested over 300 Billions dollars in little over a year in their proxy Ukraine to weaken Russia.
America and Europe (the west) has verbally put aside less than 10% of the amount to save the entire planet …

So people who is fooling who ..

Clearly there must be no climate change urgency. Clearly the priority lay on destruction…

    So.. your turn

  10. One way, Western society directly or indirectly supporting killing innocent civilians (including children), and another way, they are giving lectures about climate change for a better world.
This is a perfect example of Western Hypocrisy.
They should try to stop climate change by there borders on just f*** off
    SIMPLE

  11. S0 WE HAVE 95% SCIENTIST BELEIVE IN CLIMATE CHANGE EG FOSSEL FUEL YOU THINK THATS GOOD TO ME IT IS SHOCKING I WANT 95% SCIENTIST WHO ARE GOING TO QUESTION EVERY THING SCIENTIST DO IF YOU SIT AROUND AND ALL AGREE WOW THAT SOUND GREAT THAT EXPLAIN ABOUT THOUGHS E MAILS THAT WENT A STRAY YOU noTHE ONES WHERE A GUY SAID TO HIS FELLOW SCIENTIST NOT TO PUT IN CERTAIN COMPUTOR MODELS CAUSE. IT WILL NOT LOOK GOOD FOR CLIMATE CHANGE HOW OFFEN DOES THAT HAPPEN until we see more SCIENTIST stand up and question you cannot be taken seriously

  12. In October 2022 UN Under Secretary General for Global Communications Melissa Fleming speaking at the WEF event said that any search on Google always returned their data on climate change. She then stated that “we (the UN) own the science”. So much for independent science?

  13. I have a suggestion that will definitely help climate change should all countries agree. Every household including offices and public toilets should have a bidet. A bidet is a simple yet a very cost effective solution in cleaning yourself after using the toilet. In the Philippines, this is what we normally use to make sure that we are clean and we dont have any skidmarks. Imagine how many toilet papers the world is using every day. Imagine the number of trees we are cutting just to produce all those toilet papers. Everyone should help by starting to use a bidet to minimize if not eradicate the use of toilet papers. I got this idea when I saw people from developed countries are having stampede over purchasing of toilet papers. I wonder why they are fighting over toilet papers. It was a surprising scene for us. In the Philippines, we dont use toilet paper, we use bidet with soap or hand soap. This simple solution if supported by everyone will definitely help slow down and minimize climate change in the long run.

  14. Tens of million more people die each year in poverty in undeveloped countries. But do not worry us super rich people will stop you from accessing cheap fossil fuels, the same fuels that dragged our counties out of poverty, raised our standards of living and doubled our life expectancy. But do not worry you and your short lives will be great sacrifice for the climate change gods and their flocks of sheep.

  15. They may have their plans but God has the FINAL plan and it has already been implemented. The Good Lord Jesus doesn’t have to wait 7 years as His plan was completed on the cross at Calvary. He died for all of us and He promised eternal life for all who put their trust in his finished work. He has the sustainable development plan that is inclusive of all and it includes freedom to live and breath and have our being in Him. God will not be mocked and He laughs in the high heaven while the workers of iniquity continue to scheme. GOD OF RHE HOLY BIBLE WINS!!!!

  16. Humanity MUST look back 100 years and study all of the lies about climate that we have been fed. NONE OF THEM came to pass. NOT ONE!
So I ask 8.5 billion people who have not elected one single person at these ridiculous meetings, how bloody stupid are you all? Really!

  17. A little education from a common sense perspective.
The earth has a layer surrounding it, ever since the 60’s we began punching holes through this layer, why, you tell me. Fossil fuels are not as big an issue than sending satellites etc.. at astronomical expense of which could be used for a greater good. Everyone needs to get their heads out of their ass and look at this from a reality and stop this worthless crap that leaves a three times carbon footprint verses fossil fuels!
Lastly for all the idiots out there who do not look at nature and physics in general the earth tilts over time, this is why weather has changed and we actually find proof that animals and humans once thought to exist in cold regions are being dug up in hot climates. Hello!

  18. The UN's IPCC AR6 report, chapter 11 'Weather and Climate Extreme Events in a Changing Climate' summarises the fact that severe weather events cannot be detected as increasing, nor attributed to human caused climate change:

Increased Flooding: not detected, no attribution.

Increased Meteorological Drought: not detected, no attribution.

Increased Hydrological Drought: not detected, no attribution.

Increased Tropical Cyclones: not detected, no attribution.

Increased Winter Storms: not detected, no attribution.

Increased Thunderstorms: not detected, no attribution.

Increased Hail: not detected, no attribution.

increased lightning: not detected, no attribution.

Increased Extreme Winds: not detected, no attribution.

    There is no climate crisis.

The UN's IPCC AR6 report, chapter 11 'Weather and Climate Extreme Events in a Changing Climate' summarises the fact that certain severe weather events cannot be detected as increasing, nor attributed to human caused climate change:

Pages 1761 – 1765, Table 11.A.2 Synthesis table summarising assessments

Heavy Precipitation: 24 out of 45 global regions low confidence in observed trend (12 medium confidence), 43 out 45 low confidence in human attribution.

Agricultural Drought: 31 out of 45 global regions low confidence in observed trend

(14 medium confidence. No high confidence assessment). 42 out 45 low confidence in human attribution (3 medium, no high confidence).

    Ecological Drought as above.

Hydrological Drought: 38 out of 45 global regions low confidence in observed trend.

43 out 45 low confidence in human attribution (2 medium confidence, no high confidence).

So the IPCC are saying we didn't cause droughts and we didn't make it rain. How surprising!

There is no objective observational evidence that we are living in a global climate crisis.

The UN's IPCC AR6, chapter 12 "Climate Change Information for Regional Impact and for Risk Assessment", section 12.5.2, table 12.12 confirms there is a lack of evidence or no signal that the following have changed:

    Air Pollution Weather (temperature inversions),
    Aridity,

    Avalanche (snow),

    Average precipitation,

    Average Wind Speed,

    Coastal Flood,

    Agricultural drought,

    Hydrological drought,

    Erosion of Coastlines,

    Fire Weather (hot and windy),

Flooding From Heavy Rain (pluvial floods),

    Frost,

    Hail,

    Heavy Rain,

    Heavy Snowfall and Ice Storms,

    Landslides,

    Marine Heatwaves,

    Ocean Acidity,

    Radiation at the Earth’s Surface,

    River/Lake Floods,

    Sand and Dust Storms,

    Sea Level,

    Severe Wind Storms,

    Snow, Glacier, and Ice Sheets,

    Tropical Cyclones.

How about some quotes from the UN's IPCC AR6?

"There is low confidence in the emergence of heavy precipitation and pluvial and river flood frequency in observations, despite trends that have been found in a few regions."

"There is low confidence in the emergence of drought frequency in observations, for any type of drought, in all regions."

"Observed mean surface wind speed trends are present in many areas, but the emergence of these trends from the interannual natural variability and their attribution to human-induced climate change remains of low confidence due to various factors such as changes in the type and exposure of recording instruments, and their relation to climate change is not established. . . The same limitation also holds for wind extremes (severe storms, tropical cyclones, sand and dust storms)."

There is no objective observational evidence that we are living through a global climate crisis. None.

  19. Ending fossil fuels so what y'all did was while everything was going out you prevented small business from being able to farm to produce rotation acceptance learn and then y'all think y'all are going to take that over by putting this out making them go in a different direction and then take their lands from them so we had government seating rotations to control the spread development of information or intelligence from all these schoolings all around the world and y'all think we're going to deal with that Y'all think we're going to let that s*** slide

  20. Evil dictators in sheep clothing. They just want to lock us up, and take away our freedoms with this fear mongering climate propaganda! Just pure brainwashing evil nonsense.

  21. why do I insist that the 30 billion USD climate change funds must be entered into my account today, the application was made 15 years ago, and the impact of climate change is becoming more real, when COP28 is finished, the commitment must be adhered to.I need this done. Urgent Rush. Impossible Dream. UAE consensus. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1V9yDamo3hDSBeuJ0JIQSBl_b-RqP64ty/view?usp=sharing. Saving 7.8 billion people cannot wait until tomorrow, it has to be today, this is not for me for humanity, and I was given the mandate to carry out this project, patience has limits, basically I have to receive the money for Climate Change 30 Billion USD today. Dear best President Biden, Jokowi, world leader's, CEO's bilderberg,1700 CEO's COP28, best friend Owner CEO vanguard, blackrock, jp morgan, rotschild. I need to know when the funds for climate change of 30 billion USD can be disbursed, it should be today according to the agreed commitment into my account. Waiting is something that is very boring. Patience also has limits. (the account number and project detail in the google drive link).

  22. Do you people really expect China and India to reduce fossil fuel use putting millions more people into poverty?….When countless millions of their people require fossil fuels to keep them from lapsing into poverty do you think they're going to switch to wind and solar energy because Western climate alarmists think they should? The governments of countries with huge numbers of poverty stricken people know switching from fossil fuels to wind mills and solar panels is not going to work. Watch what happens as it becomes even clearer that wind and solar energy are a waste of time and money.

  23. Youtube switched my comment to much lower down on this list of comments…They say they want free speech but don't want anyone that addresses reality to have their comment read. I expect this comment to be deleted by Youtube. If by strange circumstance Youtube doesn't delete this comment read my post lower down in this comment section.
