Here is my short Best of 2023 Clip Video – did not have one last year, because Papa was too lazy. So this year my mom took it in her hands to make this beautiful summary of 2023.
I was racing in the younger year of the U13 category this year.
This also ment that there would be much more (multi stage) race events available than in the past two years in the U11 category.
In the beginning of the year I joined the wonderful training camp in the provence of France organised by the Lower Saxony Club Blau Weiss Buchholz. My Family and I spend two fantastic weeks with many other roadbike crazy people.
Fresh out of the camp I started of with a victory at an Easter race event close to Berlin.
Up until mid of May everything went according to plan…until someone in school jumped on my arm…
My racing season was suddenly interupted, eight weeks before the European Junior Cycling Tour in Assen.
The broken arm could not stop me from regular exercising on the roller and in the beginning of my summer vacation we went to visit my aunt and cousins in The Hague. Even though it is very flat there, I had a great preparation for Assen together with my Dad and a local group ride group we could join there.
Assen was just as imagined: a fantastic racing week in a very professionaly organised environment! Even though in my category we were only 24 kids at the starting line, the races were tough and I was very happy to get the second overall place.
Unfortunatly I broke my arm again just before the OTT. So I missed out on the biggest highlight of German youngster cyclists. And also lost the chance to ever compete with a couple of older year racers at this event. But there will be other multi day stage races where I can challenge myself.
Autumn and the Winter so far was also not kind and I got on the bike much less than I would love to.
lets hope the virus season is passing quickly so that I can start riding again.
2024 is already planned out and I am looking forward to it.
