In the heart of Belgium, an erstwhile bustling town cafe now sits in quiet solitude. Mr. Pierre and Mrs. Jeannine White, its devoted proprietors, had poured their hearts into this cafe, which adjoined their home. But life took a cruel twist when Mr. Pierre White lost his beloved wife, and his own health began to falter. Because of this, the cafe, once alive with laughter and cherished moments, succumbed to the somber fate of permanent closure.
The passing years bore witness to Mr. White’s declining health, eventually confining him to his home, where he became hospitalized in his bedroom. Five years ago, as he drew his final breath on his own bed, it was not only the cafe but also the home now that slipped into abandonment, relinquished to the relentless grasp of nature.
Today, time stands still in this place. The hands of the clock echo this stillness, refusing to march forward. With no heirs or kin to claim the property, it sits abandoned, awaiting a savior to resurrect its former magic and breathe life back into its silent halls.

< Intro > – In the heart of Belgium,  an erstwhile bustling town cafe now sits in quiet solitudes.  Mr. Pierre and Mrs. Jeannine White, were devoted proprietors had  poured their hearts into this cafe, which adjoins their home.  But life threw a cruel twist, when Mr. Pierre White 

Lost his beloved wife, and his own health began to falter.  Because of this, the cafe, once alive with laughter  and cherished moments, succumbs to the somber  fates of permanent closure. < Music >  The passing years bore witness to Mr. White’s declining health,  eventually confining him to his home. Where he became hospitalized 

In his own bedroom. Five years ago, as he  drew his final breath, on his own bed, it was not only the cafe, but also the home now, that slipped into abandonments.  Relinquished to the relentless grasp of nature.  < Music > Today, time stands still in this place.

– So, hey, there, and welcome back, everybody, on a brand new video.  And as you can see behind us, we’re not in a typical house, today.  We are in Belgium, and this actually used to be a town cafe of—  – Mr. Pierre White- – And his beloved woman, Jeannine— 

– White. And this cafe, right next to it is a house,  I need to say it’s in a pretty pristine condition. You can definitely see some decay, but I just like it.  But it has a sad story. – And, well, actually, they grew older, 

And they had to close the cafe. So the cafe became  abandoned a few years before they, eventually, passed away.  And we think that the last person that lived there was Mr. Pierre,  and he actually died on a hospital bed that’s placed,  and still present, inside one of the bedrooms in this place. 

So he passed away around 2017, we believe, that’s one of the last days we found.  The cafe already closed down a few years before,  and ever since is just left behind. In the old days when people came  over here for a drink or a beer, and had some amazing conversations 

And vibes in this place. And now it’s just a blaze of  silence and just sits empty. – That’s quite sad to see.  I need to say, I haven’t seen much cafes, actually, in this condition. So you will be definitely amazed.  – It’s definitely a special place. So we hope you enjoy it, 

And now let’s explore. – Well, as you can tell, we’re  starting off in the cafe area. This was Mr. White’s this last,  well, travel buddy, I would say. – Yes, it actually helps him  to move around the home, in the very last days. 

And this was the main door, where once visitors of this  cafe would walk in every day. – And you can tell it’s a quite busy street,  so I think this place had a lot  of people, back then, coming here. – I think it was pretty sprawling back   in his days. – Yes. 

– We still have some things standing over here, on the windowsill.  – The cactus, and they are real. – Yes, the cacti…  – They don’t vanish – Some Oriental sounds. – Oh, yes, the little mask over there, on top of, you mean.  I don’t know exactly what the French quote means, 

But we are in a French part of Belgium, today.  So it does make sense. Actually, over her the blinds are  closed and here they’re just open. – Yes, as you can tell,  the street is right over there. – There are so many things  on the wall over here. – Yes, it’s quite busy. 

– It seems that they liked Germany because it looks like that’s in Germany,  because right behind us is actually Schloss Neuschwanstein  in Germany, in Basel. – You saw that very well.  Yes, it is a Germany castle. Well, maybe, they just didn’t  like the German castles because they’re the one over there as well. 

A German castles and I think- – Yes, or a church, I’m not completely sure, but I think it’s in Germany as well. – Yes, they don’t have these  mountains over here. – Over there to say, “Why  search for something when you already find luck.”  That’s something, what is it saying over there? 

There are so many things of the Royal Belgian family on the wall.  – Yes, it’s quite fascinating to see them in their younger days, as well  – It looks like the pope? – Yep.  – It’s like these place over here. – There in the back up top. 

Do you think it was Mr. White, maybe, in serving for the army?  – There in the middle? – Yes, in the middle.  – Maybe, I’m not too sure. I’m not sure, it looks also  like a noble or royal person. The wall over here is 

Full of things with royals. – I always love to find this- -I believe he had, that’s also the Royal Belgian Family, over here.  – Yes, as well as over here. – The King and the King of Belgium over there.  Look at the artifact over here, the woman standing on top of the wood. 

– Oh, I’m sorry. – There was some   porcelain on the grounds? – Yes, as you can tell.  – Broken porcelain. – All the old DVDs—  – And CDs in the rack. They were fascinated by  the Royal Belgium Family. – Yes, these are also Royals? 

Oh, it’s in Dutch, “By love and peace, it’s a part of the universe  people we’ll be like our daughter, Louise.” – It might be from friends of them,  a daughter was born. – Yes, in 2004.  – Right behind us is the actual bar. – It looks very cozy; don’t you think so?

– It’s the exact word that I wanted to say. – Yes, it’s a very small bar,  that’s what I noticed. So that’s why I was asking myself,  “Should it be very busy over here?”  Well, I think, it was quite busy because of the busy street but, 

Still, it was very warm in here. I think this is definitely  your favorite winter cafe – Over here, they would  have to drafts for beer. – Well, no more beer, unfortunately, Remon,  can’t have a beer in the morning. – I really like how they decorated this place. 

Let’s open this up. Well, it’s actually a very little cafe,  I think it was definitely busy with visitors. But a very limited amount of  people could actually be here, and sit on the tables.  Because over there we have seats, in the front, on the left we have seats, 

And over here, and that’s everything. – Yes, that’s just it, man, it’s quite small, like you see. The copper pan.  And what is what all the masks, you saw that?  – Yes, there are many masks, I’m not sure—  – It’s carnivore masks. – And they’re not the Venetian masks. 

But seems it is, definitely, something they collected  because they’re everywhere. They’re on the walls.  – Honestly, I think it has to do with the carnival theme,  because they do have that over here – And you know the cafe is always  the place for beer, in the carnival. – Yes, true. 

– And here they definitely like the beer. – Beer, there are sports, that’s the   beer [Indistinct] – Another royals.  – Yes, I believe those are also royals, on the flag over there.  – Yes, they’re, and I’m not quite sure, but that over there looks like Chaplin to me. – Who? – Down there. 

– That’s Laurel and Hardy. – Laurel and Hardy?  – Yes. – On the left-down part?  – Yes, Laurel and Hardy. You probably know them as  the thick one and the thin one. – Yes.  – Laurel and Hardy. – Look at the carved wood work here 

– Well, as you can tell just some storage over here.  Over there, were the toilets once. – Yes, it’s still saying over “Toilets”.  – But aren’t there lockers? Have a look?  – I think there are lockers over there. I think that was just for the employees 

That were inside the cafe. – Yes, that could be.  – Because over here they had lockers, and over here are the toilets  There is even still a Singer sewing machine over here. We always find them in abandoned places. – And the strangest locations.  I mean, why would that thing be placed in toilets. 

– Yes, well, this toilet has definitely not been used  anymore for many years. -Yes, you can tell it due  to the white mold. – And this is the other toilet.  And, again, we can see in the toilet holder, over there, for the toilet paper, 

Laurel and Hardy coming back Still a Halloween theme over there, on top  and we also saw the witch standing above the bar  So, maybe, it became abandoned around October, around Halloween.  – Because there is also a Christmas candle over here 

So I think, definitely, it got abandoned near to the end of the year.  Just a simple pen. Have a look behind   the scenes, man. – Saw some syrup. This is about growing older,  a quote about growing older – Some motivational things in here. 

– Definitely something that kept them busy. Mr. Pierre White and this woman Jeanine,  growing older, eventually, they couldn’t run the cafe anymore.  – They were of the old age. – Yes, their house just  deteriorated, sadly, enough. – And then things got abandoned, for sure. 

But still I do think that this part is like abandoned for a longer time.  – Wow, it’s crazy that all these glasses are still standing over here, wares as well,  everything was just left behind. There is also a picture over there. 

Do you think it was an artist or something? – Yes, same over here.  I think it was an artist, honestly. – And also in the double fair,  there are all the glasses. All the Belgian beer glasses.  The ceilings are very low over here. – Yes, but it’s due to the fact

That the ceiling is coming down. – Yes, that as well, it’s all  over but it’s coming down. And over here a silver feast of Schultenbräu  – Yes, it’s Schultenbräu, right? – German beer.  – And there’s still something in it – Over here, still all the cups into plates, 

For the coffee she served out to the visitors in the morning.  The heater for the water. Some straws in this jug  Also saw some decoration hanging over there.  – Well- – Quite fascinating, right?  – Yes, and those were the fridges That was it for the cafe, I think. 

– Yes. – Now, we’re continuing,  and connected to the cafe parts is their living parts.  – This was like, what was it, the main room?  Do you think so? – I think this was just the other main room. I think this was the living room  because right next door is actually the bathroom 

And there were not any other areas where they could really  sit down on the table. – No, exactly.  – I think they didn’t have any children,  it was just the two of them. – Look at this, it used to  be a candle holder. – Wow, this is beautiful. 

– All the glasses over there. But what was this?  Ah, it’s just a cabinet. – This is just a cabinet filled  with crystal and glasses. Well, we do have some presence  of black mold over here, – Yes, it’s the only presence, that’s why 

We’re not wearing a mask, immediately. – So antlers, more things to  hang up jackets and shirts. Oh, look at the top. – Yes, what is it? – All those porcelain figurines.  – And also a witch, again— – Definitely collectibles.  Let’s see if I can get any closer. – Yes, these are definitely

Oh, there are still some keys over here. – Magasin Horeca, maybe,  they’re an external magazine, like magazine. – Magasin, actually, means like shop in French.  – Yes? – Yes.  – Okay, I thought it was a storage, in Dutch it’s the noun for storage.  – Well, there are still some things inside of here,

But it’s hard to open up – [Indistinct] on top of the table,  all these playing cards – Just the games sitting   on the table, over here. Well, I think, this was set up  or maybe people did this to the board. – Because in every corner there are cards 

– There are cards. Oh, what is this?  Is it a bullet? No.  – No, it’s a part   of something that is broken. – Well, and have you seen that picture?  – Oh, wow, I’m wondering I think those are just  two visitors of the cafe. Or do you think that’s, actually, 

Mr. Pierre White together with Jeannine? – I think, yes, it could be.  – It could be, but it looks like those are just people visiting it, having a drink.  – Or maybe friends, yes. – Happy times, and now it just sits in silence – Being neglected and abandoned. – And completely forgotten about 

– Well, some dices over here. This parrot statue, I’ve never  seen a parrot statue before – No.  – And turkey. There’re some more collectibles over here.  A receptacle for holy water. – I hear a clock.  – Yes, I hear a clock, as well It’s not that clock on top over there. 

– Sorry, yes, we will find it. – If it is in this room.  – It must be. – And this is, actually, the room with  the hospital bed, as you can see. – And as you can tell,  this is just in a pristine condition, it’s unbelievable. 

But I can’t imagine such a man of old age, sleeping right next to the  street, like the connection – A coin over here.  – Oh, and there is a picture over here, on the frame That could very well be Mr. Pierre White. – Yes, it’s not the same man 

From the other picture. – Oh, look, there’s the same picture.  I think that was them, in that case. – It could be them.  – Why would you have a random picture of two visitors of the cafe,  sitting in your bedroom? – Yes, exactly, and it used 

To hang up over there so, yes, I do think so.  Because the man was laying over here on the bed  and he could watch him and his wife. – Well, still some burning  wood right next to the fireplace. There are so many ornaments  hanging up everywhere. – African, Oriental,  

From all over the country so we must be very fascinated about traveling.  – Look at this fireplace. – Also with the fleur-de-lis,  the symbol of France – Mh, do you see that? – Oh, yes. – It’s an emblem?  – It has to do with hunting, I think, or with shooting for those birds. 

– It’s quite fascinating. – Well, and then there’s the hospital bed  where this man passed away around 2017, that’s five years ago.  It’s still full of things, I saw a nightstand over there,  a telephone, a lot of fake flowers, beautifully coloring, such a 

Sad room and cold room. – Yes, it’s quite sad man.  – Also over here, on the windowsill, are still fake flowers standing.  They definitely loft  collecting all these ornaments  and putting them everywhere in their home. – But, especially, ornaments   from all over the world. – Yes, plus a lot of religion. 

– But over here, indeed, it’s Oriental, and African again,  and also porcelain figurines set up. – They are collectibles, yes.  Here, I don’t know how it’s called in English. – Ah, plasters. – Plasters. Then also the details over here.  – Oh, yes. – I think they’re quite fascinating. 

– I didn’t notice it, yet. – Well, then, you’re going to open this up  because as you can see, it’s made out of glass. But I think you haven’t noticed something else.  Which I, personally, have never seen before. – I’m thinking what you are  aiming to say right now. – It’s not here. 

We will we will get there, and I’ll show you. All right, here, look on the bed,  you haven’t noticed it. But this, a paw on the back  this was for the fireplace? – You think so?  – Yes. – Why would he use   an animal paw for that? – I don’t know. 

– I really don’t like that idea. – Yes, me neither.  I just saw it and I noticed it, like this must be for the fire blaze, right? Well, I’ll leave it down in the comments section  if you think that is for something different. But I do think this was for the fireplace

– It’s literally trapped in time. – Figuratively and literally.  – Well, let’s continue to the outer part of the house  because there’s still a lot to explore, actually.  – Let’s go. – Yes, let’s go.  All right, so there’s one other room over there. – Yes, and this is actually the 

Back porch, I will say like that. Well, it was also a bathroom, actually,  look, there’s a bathtub over here. – Yes, we didn’t see a bathroom,  yet, so it makes sense. – Washing machine.  – Another toilet, the private toilet and a little mirror  – Another trolley, what? Oh, that’s quite fascinating 

These are just not normal trash cans. – Oh, no, this is for medical waste.  So they were, definitely, treated at home. – Well, I think he had some serious treatments, don’t you think so? If this box is placed over here, it’s unusual 

– Yes, I mean, it can also be for blood transfusions and things like that.  This actually leads to the garden, we can quickly show it.  There’s a little place over here with still the table  – And you know what I really love about this home is depth. 

Look at the stone wall. – Yes, the rocks behind it.  It’s actually built right next to a mountain there’s also a pretty mountainous  area where we are, – And as you can tell just as far as over there,  and what I saw and noticed is, well, if you wander around, over here 

You can still see like the hanging boards of the cafe,  and they look erect. – Really?  – Yes, it should be- – Oh, yes, I see something over there.  – Yes, there it is. Overwhelmed with the hanging board, but just to place it outside so people noted that there was a cafe. 

– That’s what Remon is talking about. It used to stand outside,  there used to be a little terrace and it’s Super Moats,  another Belgian beer brands. This is the building from  the outside, it’s pretty big. Multiple floors, so we still have  quite some things to go But we definitely saw the 

Most interesting part already that was the cafe,  – Yes, for sure, man, so I would say let’s go inside  – Yes, let’s go back inside. So we’re back in side.  Let’s go into this direction right. – Well, as you can tell it’s peeling off. 

– Yes, all the paint is peeling over here. Dang, well, we have a hallway over here  but over there is completely barricaded by those cabinets.  – I don’t know why did it, it seems like they tried to block it. – I don’t know, and it’s also damaging the lamb on top. 

But I don’t have a feeling that anybody is really still looking after this place anymore.  – No, me neither. – Over here, we have pretty big kitchen bars  with a dining table, as well. – Well, I think this was kitchen  of the cafe, actually, they used to make snacks over here. 

– I mean, it’s only kitchen. – Oh, look, that’s disgusting,  you ever saw that before? – No, what is it?  – It’s the dried oil, yes. – Oh, it’s the dried oil?  – Oil, yes. – From the fryer  – Probably our American people know what this is 

But we just call it oil, for now – Fat?  – Yes, dried frying fat, yes. Microwave over here.  – No dish left in it anymore? – No, fantastic – No way, and there are even still eggs, man. – [Indistinct] over there, you see?  – And some bacon here. I wasn’t expecting everything 

Would be inside of there, man. – Oh, there’s this one, this one comes off like—  – Oh, the freezer, man,  there is still fish and eggs.  – I’m going to close. – So the fridge does it again  – It all comes, always, afterwards. – (Remon retching) Oh, that’s bad.

Built-in let’s say like that. I think this place, once people did care  but now, I don’t think so anymore. – Ah, this is the garage, it looks empty,  this is an empty room, I think. – Yes, it’s completely empty.  – But there is a staircase. – I’m wondering what used to be here,

– All right, well, this is better. – Well, as you can tell, iron over, jacket—  – A parka. – Yes. Maureno, did you saw chairs upstairs?  – Yes. – Because right  next to this place, there was a sign— – Of Belgian beer brands, 

There was another sign with cafe. – So, maybe, there could be a cafe.  I’m going have a look, personally, after this. – It seemed empty they were actually  renovating it or something— – All right, we will see, probably, empty.  Well, as you can tell the big cabinet over here, 

Where they also uses to hang up their jackets.  – Yes, and then we have a staircase to go upstairs.  And there’s actually still a lot of perfume over here,  inside of their original packaging. – Yes, like the sold it or something. 

– Wallpaper is all peeling over here. It looks like we made it to another part,  let’s hope those rooms are not empty. – Well, also the Jesus artifact. And this is a jaguar, plastic marble table. – I think this was a room for their clothes. 

– The walk-in cabinet. – Walk-in closets, Belgian walk-in closets,  definitely not American Standards Well, still a lot of clothes are just in there,  also woman’s clothes from Mrs. Jeannine. – And there are jackets of the man—  – For Pierre, – For Mr. Pierre White. 

You can feel the dust coming up, I also really like the wallpaper, actually.  – Yes, with the flowers. It looks more modernish,  though, not very old. – No, it doesn’t.  So I’m questioning myself when they would be like for  the last time sleeping over here. Since the hospital bed is downstairs, 

I don’t know how long it  should be placed over there. – Talking about sleeping, there  are other bedrooms, over here, and those were, probably, used when Mr. Pierre and Mrs. Jeannine were still physically capable of coming upstairs.  Because that was, probably, one thing not possible anymore, 

And their health deteriorated so badly, that they actually needed the  hospital beds on the ground level. There’s also still a home trainer  over here, on the grounds – Yes, it’s quite hard, actually,  to walk over there. – Yes, it’s a little bit narrow.  Same wallpaper in this room. So some ornaments standing 

Right above the bed. And then what should be  placed, well, over there, where you’re looking right now?  – There is nothing. – They’re empty.  – And right over there? – Well, over there we still  have some linen for the bed, some bed linen. 

– Nothing over here as well, right? – Yes, a lot of sheets. – All, right, you know what I’m questioning myself is  why right over there, there is this chair toilet.  – I think he was already older when he lived still on this level.  But, eventually, he just grew older and older, 

And reached a very old age, and just he couldn’t walk up  the stairs anymore. – And this is a vibro belt.  – Oh, those are all a woman’s clothes, again.  That’s a vibro belt, all right. – For €2, damn.  – For €2, bro, that’s a good deal. Those are definitely 

All a woman’s clothes. – Very colorful clothes, actually.  – Oh, yes, that’s one thing for sure. – I think they are also really  liked the carnival theme. Because of all the masks, in their cafe  and then their colorful clothings – Those are just empty. There is also a sink and 

A bidet in this room – Yes, well, this is cool, man.  This is a very decaying room. – Dang, what a contrast  with the other bedroom – Well, as you can tell, due to the fact  that the window is just wide open. – Yes, the elements just 

Come inside the home and because of that it has  become very dilapidated. Ceiling is collapsing.  All discarded rubbish is laying on top of the vanity  and there is a picture, over here. – It seems like it was the woman.  – Yes, possibly, Mrs. Jeannine. – And this is always so fascinating. 

– Such a modern shower, right? – Yes, isn’t those, well, like a medical thing.  – This is not a medical show, but, well, you could at least  have a seat and that’s luxury. It could help medically. – I think back in these days, well, if somebody would advertise 

The showers like bam, bam, bam, and then everybody would buy them,  and, eventually, the places got abandoned. Oh, look that’s quite scary  underneath the wallpaper— – Oh, yes.  – There was a doll. – Two of them, actually, look at the dolls.  – That’s scary, man – And over here we have a picture, 

I believe that’s Mr. Pierre and Mrs. Jeannine, again.  Well, we’re inside of here. Oh, some more clothes,  very colorful, again. – Yes, they definitely had some wealth,  this is empty they had a good running business  – Well, it seems that Mrs. Jeannine was, actually, the last 

Person to live on this floor because all the clothes are from her  – Yes, exactly. – All the time. – So I think that it, definitely, was the man which he eventually was an LRH  because over here he’d shave- – Razor.  – Razor. – This one sounds there are

I’m wondering what treasures we’re going to find, this time, on the attic.  Some records, already. Let’s see what we have over here.  – Damn, storage. – Yes, there was a lot of storage.  It looks like over there, there are only mattresses 

– Well, a lot of boxes in this room and, also, still some beer signs, and some beer glasses of very well-known Belgian beer brands,  – Leffe. – Leffe.  – Yes, he’s a proper old man. – Also, look over here.  – The cups and the glass holders things you put down on or [Indistinct]. 

– I knew it but I forgot it. Oh, look, some more beer glasses over here.  – Some very old glasses, man. – All glasses over here in this boxes.  – Sick, huh? – Yes.  – Fascinating – You can tell, 

By all those glasses, that they run in the cafe – Oh, yes, that’s one thing for sure.  It’s hard to walk actually but— – Well, what do we have over here?  Some more records? – Do   you think so? – Yes, I believe there  

Used to be like records inside – Yes, here they are. – Oh, yes, it looks like they were trying to recuperate them or something.  – Well, the single over here, the chandelier, even a model of the Eiffel Tower, as a souvenir  – Souvenir de Paris. Yes, that was a lot, 

This is just their storage, man. – Oh, look, those used to   stand on the tables. – Oh, yes, Schweppes.  – Those as well. – Tripel Karmeliet, yes, a lot of  famous Belgium beers, man. – It’s definitely a unique place,  that’s one thing for sure. – Also, maybe, an animal, 

Suitcases over there. What else?  A lamp. Some more cages over there,  it looks like they also had a hamster at some point.  – Yes, over here, again, for Mr. White. – Well, this is just a lot of storage.  I believe there is a giant Santa over there. Do you see it?

– The giant Santa? – Yes.  – Oh, yes. – Right over there, at the end.  – Yes, I see it. – Well, and then I think that we saw it all,  that we explored the cafe of Mr. Pierre White and Mrs. Jeannine. 

The place that now just sits in silence. – Exactly, yes, we explored in this is all,  and I need to say it’s quite sad. Well, next door I checked,  but it wasn’t actually anything, like Maureno already said.  But I need to say you saw the chairs, I think they definitely had 

Some outside bar or something, because they had some booming  business and that’s it, the cafe— – They had a terrace,  but it seems pretty, well, unreal because it’s such a busy streets.  Why would you want even to have a drink there?  Maybe they use the back porch as a terrace.

– Exactly, you have to know how  the streets used to look back then. But I think they, definitely, had  some good businesses over here. They enjoyed their life, they  had to find these materials. – And you really wonder why  it now sits here in this state because many people 

Must know about it and would have come here,  back in the day, and, now, they’re not  doing anything with it. – I personally just think that  they didn’t have any children. We didn’t see like a child bed  or anything from a child. So I think it’s due to that fact 

That family didn’t want to take over this place  and now it is abandoned, and it just lays here until somebody,  maybe, ever buys the property or the ground.  But until then, history will remain, man, history will remain. So I, honestly, really enjoyed it. How about you?
