I was waiting at this set of traffic lights on Rochdale Road, waiting to head straight onto Harpurhey Road, when I witnessed this driver clearly jumping their red light. In fact, when you watch the video closely, you can see that the red/amber phase commences for me BEFORE they reach the Advanced Stop Line on their side. By the time they reached the yellow box, the lights on my side had entered their green phase. It’s a really dangerous thing to do and puts other drivers and pedestrians at risk.

Annoyingly, I never thought to report the driver of the Blue Toyota Aygo (MD16WYJ) who close-passed me at the start of Harpurhey Road…

Using the start of the Red/Amber Phase on my side as the reference point:

1.17 Seconds: when the driver reaches their ASL
1.75 Seconds: when the driver reaches their Stop Line
2.00 Seconds: when the driver reaches the pedestrian zone markers and the traffic lights enter their green phase
2.85 Seconds: when the driver reaches the edge of the yellow box.
