The BRT Sunway Line is a bus rapid transit (BRT) line that is part of the Klang Valley Integrated Transit System servicing the southeastern suburbs of Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

The line is numbered B1 and coloured Dark Green on official transit maps.

BRT Sunway Line is world’s first all-electric Bus Rapid Transit system. The BRT service was officially launched to the public on 2 June 2015.

The dedicated elevated busway runs from the Sunway-Setia Jaya Station, which is located near the KTM Setia Jaya Komuter station ( on KTM Port Klang Line ), and ends at the USJ 7 Station ( on LRT Kelana Jaya Line ), where there is “paid area to paid area” integration between the LRT and BRT services.

The system uses eco-friendly electric buses supplied by BYD China. The BYD K-series buses are powered by lithium iron phosphate ( LiFePO4 ) batteries – which are non-toxic and have increased fire safety, in-wheel hub motors and regenerative braking.

The electric buses can operate for 12 hours before the next charging cycle with a range of 250 km or 23 trips per day. These buses, each holding up to 60 passengers, are travelling at the speed of 30 – 40 km/h on average.

The ebus service takes around 30 minutes on full loop journey between BRT halts of Sunway-Setia Jaya to USJ 7 round-trip.

The 5.4 km long elevated busway allows the electric buses to move freely on dedicated roads within the densely-populated townships of Bandar Sunway and Subang Jaya. From the stops along the route, passengers can gain access to popular shopping malls, theme parks, commercial areas, a hospital and universities.
