    1. Hi Connor. Will you please stop showing these adverts in their entirety. Those who want to watch them can do so in the original link. Thank you.

    2. If Paris was taken in the Kaiserschlacht offensive in 1918 before the Americans arrived its very likely the French would surrender and as such the entente. Many other believe this too because the war had been going on for so long almost every country was exhausted and the French political power and center was in Paris. If Paris then was taken it would be seen as the last straw because it’s the loss of the main political strategic point for France who was a leading figure in the Entente. Britain was strangling Germany by sea but they were a supporting role instead of the main player on land as an ally to France and had not as big of a reason to keep fighting in France if Paris fell and the French morale plummeted.

Also Britain anyway would be the one hardest affected by a peace treaty that would be France and mostly it’s colonial colonies.

Even the British just like Germany was economically on the brink of economic collapse in 1918 so if Germany becomes dominant there no need to keep fighting when your so close to economically falling apart.

I can honestly name at least 3 ways Germany could have won ww1 and 0 ways Germany could have won ww2. Says a lot I think lol. Ww1 definitely was a winnable war but Germany just made too many mistakes, faced too many powerful enemies, had too weak Allies.

    3. One point in this video was wrong so I will make a small correction. Germany didn’t plan to an next all of Belgium and parts of France they did however plan to puppet Belgium and maybe give the new pro German government in Belgium parts of France.

    4. 35:20 You forgot the reason why they started Barbarossa so early. They were on a deficit not getting more oil than they were consuming because they had to supply all of their conqueror territories and their war industry with oil. They weren’t getting enough so to not have a collapse in their war economy and lose their offensive potential they literally invaded the USSR a few months before that happened.

    5. Connor…those Japanese women did not jump off of cliffs to avoid capture because they were fanatics…they jumped because they had been lied to and told that if the Americans took them they would be assaulted to death and subjected to cannibalism by the Marines. They jumped because their own leaders had told them that jumping and dying quickly was the best they could expect if the Americans got ahold of them. The incident you spoke of happened on Saipan.

    6. Two front war, overwhelming arrogance, crappy allies and in the end pissing everyone off. But the Dale Carnegie book "How To Win Friends And Influence People" hadn't been written yet.

    7. i disagree that the somme was disastrous in the context he is saying.
the somme was meant to take place much later with more training and planning, but the need to help ease pressure at verdun forced the somme to take place before things were ready.

the somme we know was a battle out of necessity when it took place.

    8. I liked your argumentation about peace only being possible after huge slaughter and annihilation of different people. While I do not 100 % agree (or at least I sincerely hope that this is not the case), I can see arguments for that. The peace of Westphalia after the 30 years war was a tremendous peace treaty, it basically lasted up until Napoleon came along 150 years later. Obviously that time period was not completely peaceful, but relatively speaking definitely.

    9. It is a complex topic, but the answer can be simplified: an effective sea blockade made the German population suffer (e.g. hunger) and war attrition – especially for the population – was too much at this point. Attrition was also bad on the Allied side, but morale got a lot better with the outlook of new armies from North America showing up soon. So the population had enough, mutany and a revolution later and the people in charge of the army were out of power.

    10. Both wars was because their leaders were weak SHOWING OFF both were Narcissists playing toy soldiers both had chips on their shoulders saying that there probably would have been a war at some stage before the WWI as it was brewing but the Kaiser was in no position to to be a leader as he had no understanding how to lead one let alone a country it’s a pity HIS FATHER DIED BEFORE HIS TIME as he had a peaceful disposition and would have negotiated, like Hitler Kaiser Wilham liked to take over from his Generals and infighting with a weak Government under the Kaiser .Playing with his toy soldiers was delusional in adulthood as he did in his childhood he also felt inferior as he had no use of his L arm causing him to prove himself to his English relatives who he knew disliked him and there was competition between them leaning towards hate , just my opinion as It might have made a difference just saying 🤷‍♀️

    11. This is the point of the European Union, it is Europe's Peace process.
By creating an economic and political union, especially between France and Germany it makes the material strength of a single state less important than the whole and small nations count as much as large ones.
Many people have forgotten this fact, especially in Britain and are turning once again to listen to those, who want a return of "nationalistic quarrels……that wreck the peace and mar the prospects of all mankind" (Churchill Zurich 1946).

    12. But in Europe we do know each other – I think most families have immigrant ancestors here and there on the family tree. The wars were not instigated by ordinary people, and even though the leaders (kings, queens and the like) were related they were one big (un)happy dysfunctional family 🙃🤗

    13. "Hindsight" is not a German word, Connor: "hind" means "back" as in "hind quarters" and one's "behind" (on which one sits) – it just means "seeing back in time".

Perhaps you were thinking of "Zeitgeist" – "the spirit of the age" which is German?

    14. The "Funny" thing is that in France we called this war the "Der des Der", meaning the "Last of the last", right before it's end. Everything was destroyed in north-est. We had to declare a huge zone, called the "red zone", non suitable for human life due to the million of unexplosed things and gaz can leaking. Most trees there were contaminated with shrapnel and became "toxic", corrupting the oxygen they naturally produced. Death toll was so huge 9 on 10 village / city had to erect a "monument for the dead" listing people coming from there who died in the trench. The concept of "Last of the last" tell a lot about our preparation for the WWII. Ironically, the period between the 2 world war is remembered to be the one with the most civil right advancement (paid leaves, introduction to the women vote, sick days). The crazy mustache guy ruined everything.

    15. I wonder who made this video, oh, wait a minute it must be an American, forgetting that the rainbow army Americans ( always late for the party) weren’t terribly significant as they didn’t appear until 8 months before the end of the war. He also refers to the British, this and that neglecting to say that the “ British “ troops were comprised of Brits, West Indians, South Africans, Indians ( from India ), Newfoundlanders, Canadians, Australians, New Zealanders….to a total of 3,000,000 soldiers from the Commonwealth alone. Besides all that The Commonwealth entered at the beginning in 1914!
