Oxford University’s student union has allowed Just Stop Oil to potentially recruit new members by hosting a table at its freshers’ fair.

The climate change protest group manned a small stall at the two-day event this week alongside a number of talks aimed at bolstering its membership.

TalkTV’s David Bull and Sarah Hewson are joined by former Tory adviser Charlie Rowley and playwright Emma Burnell to discuss the latest Just Stop Oil action.

Charlie accuses Oxford University of being “completely out of touch” for allowing the group to canvass at its fresher’s fair.

    1. So you can’t arrange a meeting with people to fight the tyranny in this government and its councils using its citizens as cash cows putting up cameras everywhere making us drive 20 mph connect All the dots. Home invaded and arrested called a terrorist. but just stop oil. Activists are allowed to meet and collaborate at Oxford makes no sense. Clearly this is their agenda. TalkTV sponsored by the government. Call yourself a free speech channel.

    2. Nobody ever mentions the UN part in apparently supporting these young climate activists. I was listening to Antonio Guteres UN chief. Our common agenda vision for global cooperation. Short cut if anyone wants to listen for themselves. 5:1 Why have we got this Organisation interfering in our country ? Did we vote for them to dictate how we are to run our own lives I didn’t.

    3. There is no problem with Just Stop Oil being at the Oxford Freshers' Fair. It lets you sift the wheat from the chaff. And it reminds you that Just Stop Oil is not even remotely in line with the interests of the working class.

Any Oxford student joining up with Just Stop Oil is demonstrating their intellectual inferiority and setting themselves up to be a police CHIS. Zero respect for them.

And you can tell that JSO are the enemies of the working class by how working class people respond to them. With violence. You don't see working class people attacking those Blade Runner people do you?

    4. And this is so called higher education for the filthy rich . No wonder this country is in a effing mess . I have no time for thick stupid studest that support this crap.

    5. Really, you only have to look at who funds these So called universities, to the tune of millions to understand why? Brainwash, indoctrinate our Youth, tomorrow's future, sound familiar? All Info on alternative media.

    6. Oxford University one of the only places you will find people stupid enough to believe JSO bollocks. Brainwashed by Marxist teachers and professors they are prime JSO material.

    7. Look what happened to the Universities in the states where a lot of professors there identify with Marxism. They are just churning out activists at this point.

    8. It should be remembered that Oxford's undergraduates don't really belong to the university (as is the usual case) but belong to the many independent colleges. As such, the Oxford University Student Union is superfluous, leaving it floundering around attempting to see a purpose, and making it vulnerable to these loony activist groups.

Also, please be aware that this useless organisation has absolutely nothing to do with the world famous Oxford Union, which is a debating society. Please do not confuse the famous Oxford Union with this loony Oxford University Student Union.

    9. No surprise they are recruiting there they only have the smug well off students or retired rich in their ranks. Insane though they think its ok to fly around the world without any comeback from others.

    10. Emma Burnell NO ONE FROM THE SO CALLED RIGHT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO TALK AT COLLEGES OR UNIVERSITY FOR DECADES……… ITS ALWAYS STOPPED OR INTERFERED WITH….

    11. The decision made 100 years ago to provide automobile access to the working/middle classes has been a disaster for our environment. 95% of car journeys could easily be made by bicycle, which is a far less expensive and non-polluting form of travel. This would have the added effect of helping to curb the working-class obesity epidemic. Together we CAN make a difference.
