The German automaker has unveiled the first-ever BMW iX2, which is the second-generation model that is now available in an all-electric variant.
Similar to the iX1 that was unveiled the previous year, the new iX2 coupe will only be offered at debut with the iX2 xDrive30 powertrain type, which combines dual-motor all-wheel drive with a high-voltage battery with a 64, 8 kWh useable capacity.
When the temporary boost function is included, the combined output is 313 horsepower (230 kW), and the torque is 494 Nm. According to the WLTP cycle, the BMW iX2 is somewhat more efficient than the BMW iX1, an SUV with a maximum travel distance of 438 km, with a completely charged battery enabling it to travel between 417 and 449 km.
BMW claims that it will take six and a half hours to fully charge. The options list also includes a 22 kW three-phase AC charger, which can fully recharge the battery in three hours and forty-five minutes.
The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is done in 5.6 seconds and the top speed is 180 km/h.
The iX2 weighs 2,020 kilos and is 4.55 meters long by 1.84 meters broad by 1.56 meters high. At the BMW facility in Regensburg, Germany, production is anticipated to start shortly, with European deliveries starting in March 2024.
