Our final leg of our summer van trip takes us to Lüneburger Heide! No, we never really had this high on a bucket list when we first made it to Germany, but many of you recommended paying a visit that we decided to do just that. The heath bloom was beautiful to see, and timed quite well with our travel itinerary. Although the area is much to big to explore in just a day or two, we still loved our experience walking and riding through the outdoor nature preserve and seeing such a unique are in Germany.

Did you also know there is a very large barefoot park as well? We had never heard of these type of parks before our time in Europe, but we loved visiting the Barfußpark Lüneburger Heide in Egestorf! Walking through mud, glass, grass, and rocks was a fun experience for us all and a happy coincidence that we stumbled upon it.

    1. It is and always will be your decision. But you could tell right from the start that you didn't really feel comfortable in Germany. Since you are now going to another country, the subscription no longer makes sense. There is a difference between living in a country and just visiting…

    2. Thanks for visiting my home region! I'm happy that you had a great time here, especially in our Barfußpark 😊
Sad you're leaving, but good luck for your next steps and I wish you all the best!

    3. The experiences of a lovely family who want to explore Europe are shared here. Personally, I like this, even if it doesn't last. Because I believe that every kind of beautiful event will be remembered by every person. If one day there is a desire and possibility to return, then starting over here will be easier. I personally wish the family all the best.
      PS its a misunderstanding on12:20,
you will leave Germany one day, but maybe you will come back?!? and can you imagine a permanent life here?

    4. Sorry to learn you are leaving. I have been enjoying your Videos more or less in silence, but I enjoyed them. I hope to be follow you and your childs in the future. All the best for the whole family!

    5. I have been following you since Day 1 in Germany ….or even a little before – What a pity that you are leaving our country.! I thought you blended in very good….and of course, I will miss your content….and I always admired your attitude towards your Partner, your kids, family…and that you travels even with small kids.!! But maybe you both miss your families in the US..and your friends… Hopefully you could form some new friendships whilst living in Germany….and if you might come back one day, please come and stay in Northern Germany….I will miss you all!! Yvonne from Bremen

    6. My home and Heimat :)))) Growing up there is living in nature heaven 🙂 the Lüneburger Heide used to be much much bigger but was deminished by deforrestation which is not bad for nature of course, but if the remaining parts werent protected early enough, nothing of what you see there would have survived…

    7. Alles Gute Euch für die Zukunft! Danke für Eure tollen Videos und Erkundigungen über/in Deutschland & Europa. Hoffentlich kommt Ihr mal zurück, auf "einen" Urlaub!

    8. My wife and I have been living about 15 to 20 kms from the area you visited since moving here in 1996. It really is among the most beautiful places of Germany (unless you insist on either beaches or mountains), and it's always worth a Sunday stroll with friends. We also visited the "Barfußpark" (Barefoot Park) a few years ago and enjoyed it even without children of our own. Glad you featured the place in your video, it definitely deserves it!

    10. Germany certainly isnt the most exciting place in the world, but for a young family to grow up their children its a very developed, safe and educating place.
