The husband of a Colorado woman whose body was found last week after a three-year search is ‘relieved’ and convinced he will be now cleared of any suspicion of involvement, a source has claimed.

Suzanne Morphew, a 49-year-old mother of two, vanished on May 10, 2020, after going on a bike ride on Mother’s Day.

Her bike was found the day she went missing, discarded in a ravine near her mountain home in Salida, 140 miles south of Denver.

Investigators have revealed they found her ‘scattered remains’ 50 miles from her bike, in Moffat, Saguache County, while they were probing a completely separate case. She had been buried in a shallow grave, the coroner called to the site said, and her bones then dispersed over the years.

No arrests have been made since the remains were located on September 22, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation confirmed on Wednesday. Her identity was confirmed on September 27.

    1. State has to investigate the stranger DNA found on the bike, the bike helmet, in her suv and in the home.
Hopefully there is some real evidence/DNA on the body that shows who and how she was killed.
Is there a serial killer in Colorado? She's not the only dead body missing and later found in the area.
Everyone wants to convict the husband because of their "feelings" but evidence must to shown beyond a reasonable doubt!

    2. I knew Suzannes body would be found. What were the chances of her body found accidentally? Uphill struggle for prosecutors to make a 2nd arrest. DNA is always the strongest telltale signs. Hope they're able to get answers.

    3. We all know Barry is guilty based on evidence. His daughters however? No words for them. How can they side with their dad? I would make so much noise if I were them 😮

    4. He was charged then deemed innocent but is he being charged a second time for the same crime? I’m just thinking of the double jeopardy statute. I don’t know if he can be charged again because of the 5th amendment.

    5. He didn't know about Jeff until the police told him. He screwed around in Indiana, that is why they moved to Colorado, at least one reason, second reason, daughter was going to school there.
Oh the pool was not in use because of Covid.

He owed Suzanne money that he took, it was inheritance from her mom and grandmother.

He and daughters said it was a happy marriage, they lied.daughters boyfriend who was sent to house to look for Suzanne told officer that they fought a lot, very unhappy marriage.

    6. No way to know what day her body was placed there. Her body could have been moved. Phone evidence, running around the outside of his house, truck's computer evidence (which first judge threw out), throwing multiple trash bags away in several different locations, putting phone in airplane mode, smell of chlorine in his room (no, it wasn't from a pool), etc. Lots of evidence.

    7. In that missing four hours documented by the car computer the husband claimed he was driving to Broomfield Co from his home in Salida Co. His arrival in Broomfield is documented as a verified alibi. Google maps shows that trip takes 3hour and 17min to drive North to Broomfield. The body of Suzanne was found forty miles south of the Salida home. How is the husband Barry supposed to have driven 40 miles south, buried a body then driven more than 4.5 hours North to be in Broomfield in that 4 hour window? The timeline exonerates the husband Barry and indicates that law enforcement and the DA got this one very wrong but does not want to admit it, so as to minimize the damages demanded in the lawsuit filed against them by the husband.

    8. Didn’t the husband offer many explanations to odd actions he took in connection to Suzanne not being found and ”vanished”? I have a vague me ory of a mention of a mountain lion that harmed her, according to the husband. No blood was found either! This in combination of a ”shallow grave” says a ton. Mountain lions don’t bury their prey in the same way a human would, or else it wouldn’t have been viewed as a shallow grave. I’m also stopping at the non reaction of the daughters considering they had lost their mom in such a manner + their devotion to their father without question. My psychology studies at uni. checks off several boxes here too, not just the legal ones! /Uni. law student from Scandinavia

    9. What I find awful about this case is that a partial DNA profile was found in her car, a full DNA profile was found on Her bike and Helmet which all 3 came back to a man who had convictions for sexual assault against women… They find Her remains whilst working another case…. Surely this is why they had to drop the charges against Her Husband and please people, stop shaming and blaming Her Children.. Their father has not turned them against their mother, it’s such a sad case without the armchair detectives… Barry has been strange at times, but it’s such a huge leap to paint him as a murdering Husband, let’s see what happens and where the evidence leads investigators, please….
I am glad now that Suzanne can be laid to rest and that their two daughters are not suffering from not knowing where she was.. 🙏God’s Speed 🙏

    10. Last thing…I promise. I just read the Chris Watt’s association and it reminded me of something. After reading the Affidavit to Arrest Warrant for Barry, he referred to Suzanne in the past tense. Now that tells you everything you need to know about this case.

    11. He left 2 hours earlier to head to the jobsite than he had planned. His phone was in airplane mode. He possibly could have drove there first to dump he body. Proving it will be monumental if no electronics recorded it. Mileage obviously wasnt recorded back then or that might have proved he drove the distance, but that is still cicumstantial. If he did this I think he got away with it.

    12. Anyone operating under a moniker of "Professional" or "expert" utilizing one of these college degrees can claim little more than being indoctrinated into a mental illness. Unless the degree is OVER 20 years old.

Todays university is no more than a train station/bus depot turnstile.

    13. What Barry Morphew needs to understand is the collective has his number and we know everything. I mean everything. Wake up the TRUTH is here and you can’t hide.🔥⚡️🌝 every thing and I mean every thing is coming to the light.

    14. Brother…we know who did it. No amount of public “scrutiny” (most people believe he did it) is going to sway this case. Justice WILL prevail.
