A gunman obsessed with mass shootings compiled a list of homemade weapons, bombs, and ammunition to use in an attack including submachine guns and uzis, a court heard.

Reed Wischhusen, 32, who had developed “macabre interest in infamous killers” such as Dunblane gunman Thomas Hamilton, had built an “armoury” in his home and plotted to murder his former teacher and classmates, Bristol Crown Court heard.

Police discovered he had filled his house in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, with a cache of weapons, bombs, grenades and poison to launch a “hitman-style attack” against 10 people at his old school, prosecutors said.
