Cycle touring on the F26 Sprengisandur route.
In July 2017 we cycled toured around Iceland from north to south. This video shows the five days we spent crossing the interior on one of Icelands most rough and desolate routes. The weather was wonderful for the first few days but changed drastically when we reached halfway at the Nyidalur mountain hut. The final few days was spent battling ferrocious headwinds. Due to the headwinds we spent one evening sheltering in an unused horse stable. The F26 is a challenge but great experience for adventure touring cyclists.

Hello, it's a good choice the "normal" marathon plus tires for F26 or better some MTB tires? Thank you for the movie
Hi. We all used Schwalbe Marathon Mondials. Had no problems at all. A great tire for rough roads.
hello, how many km?
It is 240 km from Godafoss to the Highland center at Hrauneyjar.
Wow, fantastic tour. Thanks for great Video Will do that in August later this year, but without family 🙁 . My son needs to grow a bit until he's able to manage the Sprengisandur. How old is Jamie?
Thanks for posting Andrew. I did part of the sprengisanur route in the opposite direction with my son a month ago. We found the tracks to be very slow going!
Thanks for the great video! How wide were your tires? Do you think s a gravel bike with 29mm enough? Thanks for the advice
C'est formidable j'ai beaucoup apprécié vous êtres courageux les images sont magnifiques merci beaucoup et bon courage
You may have overtaken me and my brother who walked this road and we remember the storm vividly with severe winds blowing for 3.5 days. Wildcamping was very difficult but we eventually arrived at Hrauneyjar. We did talk to some cyclists. Wonder if it was you?
i thought this rotue was extreemly hard, this kid must be as strong as a rock
Which you you like to recommend me F26 or F35?
