Electric bikes are becoming more and more popular worldwide, but are subject to strict laws and regulations to make them legal to ride in public. We already know how fun they are to ride, but just how fast can you ride an unrestricted e-bike? We took Hank and Conor to a private race track to compare it to the speed of a road bike.

  1. only 60… look, thats impressive. by all means. but there are electric scooters… scooters… not mopeds, not vespas, actual, stand up scooters… that can reach 100kph. so uh, yeah good work? but unrestricted my fkkn arse.

  2. Are e-bikes sold in the UK still restricted to 15 MPH? Was interested in going for an e-bike next but not when the only benefit is an easier time going up hill. I assume I would have a harder time on the straights due to the extra weight when i average 20 MPH currently?

  3. Unrestricted mine today for a try. Is a 30kg e bike. Fat tyres. Went max of 27 miles an hour! Only a 250w motor lol. Installing hydraulic brakes and an accelerator on it

  4. Jesus Christ loves you, he laid down his life on the cross and rose again three days later, so that all who receive him would not perish in their sin, but be set free from sin, and have everlasting life.✝️

  5. there is an easier way to remove the constraint.. and I did it completely by accident. When I was modifying my mother's bike, I mistakenly programmed the on-board computer to the wrong wheel size and now her electric bike accelerates to 50 km

  6. You should have tried a Bafang BBSHD (runs 70km/h easily) or CYC X1 Pro. Both have also more torque and both are commonly used in the E-Bike community.

  7. No!!!!……..it's restricted to 15 mph not kilometres. We use miles per hour in the UK. I don't know anyone that uses kph in the UK. Why would we want to use kph when cars go at mph speed. Don't confuse people with European speeds.

  8. I just got an e-bike and I think 20mph is a bit silly. I wonder if it was an arbitrary number. I can go faster on an acoustic bike. The extra weight of the e-bike makes it hard to push it much higher than 20mph with no assist.

  9. whats the point of seating like that on an ebike 😀 a bafang bbs02 750w can do 55kph but the reality is bike brakes make sense up to 40kph, plus no frame rigidity on speeds like that etc

  10. E-bikes do deserve the bad rap but that's due to the lawmakers not the manufacturers
    25km/h limit is absolutely ridiculous
If it was like 40km/h no one would be complaining about them

  11. The 25 mph restriction law is nonsense just because something is the law doesn’t mean it’s right or fair , a few politicians decide to pass a law and thousands of bike riders are forced to obey it

  12. If your thinking abt getting a SpeedBox get one! I got one for my trek rail e and I can do 45 mph cruising. It’s so much fun and the laughs when I over take people in cars is amazing!

  13. Initial response: Got this bike for my friend. https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ Delivery was fast. And the friend was surprised I would order it when she had never suggested she wanted anything but the pedal bike she had. She has now ridden the bike two times and gives it a 10 and says it is very fun. We have some hills in our town that are very challenging to climb on a typical bike. But tonight she went up with the pedal assist and loved it. I was way behind on my standard bike, huffing and puffing. Now she is no longer lagging behind me. This thing is powerful enough that a person could go around town without any pedaling. She likes to get some exercise so on flat ground she hits the red button to turn off pedal assist and only uses the twist throttle when she's in a tough spot. The bike looks good. It is really a very nice bike for the friend. Now for me, when I get an electric bike, I'm twice her size and will be looking for a bigger watt motor and battery. But this one is just wonderful for my friend. I am happy with this purchase.

  14. I live in Costa Rica. Here we are allowed 1200 watts and 56 KPH without peddling. But the e-bike or e-scooter must have functional pedals. We have many inclines of 30 to 35%. One known at 41%/ I am 76 years old and 183 pounds. With my 1200 watt RAM Mia E-scooter I can go up a 21% hill at 38 KPH without peddling. The posted speed limit is 40 KPH and traffic about that speed. I feel far more comfortable if I am within 10 KPH of other traffic and posted limit. Only Hwy 1 and 2 have speed limits in excess of 50 KPH. A 250 or 350 watt motor would not cut it here. 1000 watts at least is needed. I believe e-bikers as well as vehicle traffic would be much happier lifting the power level of e-bikes and only restricting the speed. Meaning the e-bike could do the allowed speed on level ground as well as up hill and down hill.. My RAM Mia looks much like a Vespa Scooter. I am going to tune the controller to full power, I believe 2000 watts and the speed likely 75 KPH; . Until I was 70 the hills were no problem and could do 60 MPH on mountain bikes, even faster on a racing bike, even at high altitude in the Andes Mountains of Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia.

  15. Ever hear the foklore story about John Henry…a man who challenged a steam drill with a sledge hammer? At the end John won the race but laid down and died from the effort, illustrating that machine would ultimately dwarf man's efforts and make them obsolete. Ebikes are not just the future, they're now and much to th dismay of racers, they will change the landscape of cycling forever
