    We Went to Bucharest | FIRST TIME EXPLORING ROMANIA | Biking Through Bucharest



    Our adventures have brought us to Bucharest, Romania this time!! We used our Thanksgiving trip to take a trip to mainland Europe! And maybe just in time too… on our last day there, we heard news of the Omnicron variant sweeping over the continent, potentially causing more lockdowns and changing restrictions.

    We seemed to have lucked out again with the timing of this vlog. Not only did we return just before the UK started their PCR test mandate, but we also got to visit Romania’s Christmas Markets which opened the day we arrived (seriously what are the chances!!) However, navigating COVID restrictions is not all we got up to! Between bike tours, food tours, and bus tours, we kept quite busy during our few days in this beautiful country.

    In the forested areas of Transylvania, ringed by the Carpathian Mountains, we discovered much of what we were hoping to find! We spent time in Brasov, seeing the Black Church, Rope Street, and Dracula’s Castle (Bran Castle). We visited Peles Castle and braved the winding roads back towards the capital. In Bucharest, we zoomed all around the city. We visited the Palace of the Parliament, Christmas Markets, Van Gogh Cafe, Caru cu Bere, and so much more!

      Romania has more beautiful places to visit. Next time if you stay longer you could visit salt mines, waterfalls, caves in the mountains or the Black Sea cities or traditional villages in Bucovina or in Maramures.

      I miss Romanian sweets yummy living here in Canada as Romanian I can't get used to the Canadian sweets they are so full of sugar, , I hope you enjoyed Romanian or a small part of it. Maybe next time you get to visit more there are so many beautiful places.
