Primož Roglič and the Tour de France have a love-hate relationship. After the unraveling of his Tour campaign on the Planche des Belles Filles in 2020, Roglič has failed to punch at the Tour de France. With Vingegaard taking the leadership role at Jumbo-Visma, could Roglič’s time come now that he’s signed with BORA-Hansgrohe? Can he ever win the Tour de France?

    1. At the moment Primož is more motivated and in better team than Jonas. Jumbo visma is falling apart… Sepp got wings, Wout is skipping tour,… not so strong team as before. Also Primož is racing much smarter than Jonas.

    2. I agree with all said here. I will still cross my fingers for him as he is one of the best if not the best riders over the last several years. Good luck Primoz, I’ll be supporting you!

    3. You must be high if you think primoz can't win the tour.he is bad to the bone.the only reason other people win is because he let's them win , he is cool like that

    4. I'm not sure Primoz is so dramatic about winning the Tour de France. He has this way of returning from every setback he's had that, I believe, is related to him not focusing on it, moveing forward and enjoying the good moments.
      Thanks for the video!

    5. If roglic wants to win the tour he had to leave jumbo
As seen last year the team may not have sent him to the 2024 tour
He has and can beat Remco
But I’m not sure about vingegaard or pocacar
Although really it’s pointless him trying to win another giro

    6. I'm in agreement with you over his TdF chances unfortunately. I do like Primoz and enjoy watching him race, but as you said I think his best chance was in 2020, and the dynamic of the sport is moving to younger winners. He's still a great champion in my book.

    7. The commentary on this video was very good. And it makes total sense. However, I thought back to the year That Nibali won the Tour. I don't think his chance was any better than the video gave to Pimos. Yes. He did ride as the best rider. After. The top guys feel for one reason or another. Not taking a thing from Nibali. I was happy as hell that he won. But. If everyone else stayed in the race. I don't think anyone could tell how he would have made out. We can all remember Primos losing to Pgicar on stage 20. And we were all speechless, I suspect. It is one of the great things we see year in and year out. The "Thrill of Victory" is throughout the season as we see human interaction. And the incredible days that someone overcomes. And shines above their competitors. This is why we love this sport so much. He has a great chance. He has often shown that he is tenacious and takes the win just a few strokes or less just before the stripe. Only time will tell. And what a great couple more years of suspense he will bring each race he signs into. I, for one, would love to see him get one. As you clearly have said correctly. The youngsters still have more time. Primoz probably does not. Remember when Cris Horner won the Giro? However, most of us wish he would come clean and publicly confess he was on the juice. But maybe he was clean. And maybe Primoz can still make it happen, too. Can't wait to see what happens. Jumbo might split the leadership between Videgard and Cuss. That could blow up, eliminating both leaders at Jumbo. Culling a few of the top picks out early. And Wout adds a second chance for the team to fracture as well. If another GC crashes out. Or falter on a TT. And there ya go. Can't wait for next season to start. I don't think the second tier of kids will come good next year. So we can only wait.

    8. The real reason why Primoz might not win is because you guys do not believe hard enough in Primoz Roglic. We all must vigilantly pray everyday to our lord God Saviour Primoz Roglic.

    9. I disagree with the comments about Bora. I think it'll be a great fit for him that isn't a last minute effort. He is a pro cyclist and likely has contacts with whoever knows how many other pros there are, probably dozens at this point so I see it more as of best team based on conversations with other pro cyclists and just who offered rather than a last minute decision, just look at the Ineos and Remco talks that have been put out would you have called that out as a last minute decision?
If his domestiques at BORA are not at Kuss level I think he'll survive the Tour and able to take spots because like you said, he is good on boni seconds.

The world's seen how great of a TT Remco is and if there is even a sliver of gains for Roglic by going to his setup of the specialized TT bike in which both BORA and QS have then that makes it another good justification to jump over to Bora.

As for the Tour, I'd say his biggest threat here is high mountains GC contenders that have not posted results. Tadej came up into the ranks very fast to take his TDF victories and Jonas just delivers a beatdown on the high mountains. So if there is another rising star that is able to repeat what those two do then I don't think Roglic has a chance.
And the other thing is that I'm not 100% convinced he is going to the Tour. His contract is likely huge for BORA but I still think he can taste success at one of the other two GTs and partake in other races around the Tour.

    10. The grand tours the tdf in particular is always a team effort,.
Primos at his core is not a ciclyist ,he is an accident prone Icarus that regards cyclists as mere earthlings therefore he will always fail to earn the support of Which ever team he joins. He should take a leaf from the book of Eddie the eagle that it's nice to be nice.

    11. GC rider cant win Tour de France with like three or two weeks of defending its better to win the last week than trying to defend for most time of the tour.

    12. Oh man… Roglic is the 2nd strongest climer in the peloton… Vingegard, to come neither near his sprinting abilities needs to sacrifie his high altitude super power… and still will not match him or Pogacar.. in my opinion everything depends only from how will he integrate and improve with Bora…his is a big underdog, but never uderestimate the most determined one,…. especialy when he is out for revange…

    13. he'll never win because he cracked, then he crashed, and then tjv had fishboy (and now kuss, too) and didn't need him anymore.
plus the 2023 vuelta showed he's an idiot and a toxic asshole.
