    2. What about bikes with no suspension? I have a really old mountain bike with no suspension. Is that ok to start with or should I think about getting a newer one?

    3. I live in northern Illonois, and we have a good amount of trails up here, especially for beginners. Just 2 days ago I went for my first time on a bike that I fixed up with my dad. We went from 55mm brake pads to 70mm and also made the brakes tigther as they were really loose and were a series danger. However, the front wheel is slightly bent so there is still an unfixable tow in the front which makes a screeching noise if you really get down on the brakes. Mountain biking was really fun and i surprised the people that i went with with how fast i was going through the trails for it being my first time.

    4. I started trail riding about a month ago, and I'm gonna get flamed for saying this, but I'm ready for it, especially considering how much on road experience I have cycling; I started out on yellow and blue trails with no helmet. Pretty reckless, yes, but I do very well and the environment and the trails I were on was very predictable. I downloaded bike trail apps like trailforks and Alltrails to scout out any trails near by that's acessible by bus, and then looked at Youtube videos of those trails. The ones I felt I could handle, I went to. My first one was Lakeshore Park in Novi, Michigan. Great Cross Country trail and will give you a huge learning curve with all it's technicality. I only fell twice there out of the 3 times I've been there, and both times I left with only scratches (I guess I'm good falling LOL). I was, and still am, learning the trail. You can miss small things in videos that could be an issue if you're not alert enough in real life on the trail. The last ones I've been to were Clinton River and River Bends, both in Sterling Heights. River Bends right now is my new favorite (my first favorite was obviously Lakeshore Park). Lakeshore wasn't fast and flowy enough, and it's very technical; too much of an exercise to get through. So yeah, that's how I started out, and it's not for everyone because I'm starting out with no helmet, but for me, I think it heightened my sense of alertness I guess you can call it, because I knew that I can't get into any crashes that will involve hitting my head, and if I did, always remember to tuck and roll. Definitely buy a helmet and glasses everyone, don't be like me!! Lol

    5. Okay for step one, search for bike shop, I own a mountainbike. Im swiss and thr mountainbike was my way to go to school. now many many years later im interested in downhilling. I have my grandpas mountainbike now, It wad priced at about 2000 bucks so its fairly expensive

    6. I bought a giant talon one as my first real mountain bike. I had a Walmart bike and went on the trails. It was super fun yet terrifying because that bike was not made for the terrain.

    7. Guam got some deadly and dope trails literally on top of a mountain no trees. There's a lip here and there but if you fall you dead

    8. I'm a little older now, and I went to the skatepark after a ten year break and it freaked me out lmao (riding bowls on a cruiser is hard!!) And I used to longboard. But in general I'm having a hard time selecting an action sport, and I'm a little skittish about pavement now, and think mountainbiking and boarding could both be really good for me. And I like the woods 🙂

I've been having a lot of fun riding my ebike in the woods, and it makes me want to learn the analogue techniques… learn to bunny hop etc etc

So maybe I'm transitioning to bikes now, instead of boards. Idk. I get very obsessive about what to do or learn so I'm trying lots of things rn.

    9. My local shop is so rude and condescending and they’re apparently always backed up a couple weeks anytime I ask for repairs or maintenance
