It was only after revisiting and looking over my footage that I realized how much of this journey I had forgotten. It was a beautiful 3 days, riding an area of Norway few people visit (with the obvious exception of the Ocean Road). Most of the roads are quiet and surprisingly flat. I hope you enjoy the ride!

Can you do a video where you explain how you do the planning for a trip? Like find out which roads to take, where to camp etc…
always awesome story 🙂 very inspiring! keep it up Mathew… ride safe and stay safe 🙂
Love your videos. I need to move to Norway.
Congratulations again Matthew! I laughed, I enjoyed and I meditated on your last words, which were spot on as usual. Beautiful country, it goes without saying, but seen from a cyclists perspective makes it even more beautiful. I say it again : your editing coupled with your narrative participate in making your videos my favourite YouTube cycling content. Please! More! 🙂
that is world class editing!
Enjoyed it
Awesomeness 😎
Matthew, I’m enjoying all of your videos and want to thank you for them. I’ve cycled in Norway twice and plan to return when possible. You’ve given me some ideas for future routes. Thanks again, Ron “I live in Northern Wisconsin near Minneapolis.
Thanks for another great video and bringing back some great memories for me. Alesund was the first place I’d experienced heated outdoor seating and In Trondheim I loved the Sykkelheis (cycle lift).
It's Stoarsaysundbrewah 😀
Wise words mate.
I too went to Ålesund this summer from Århus Denmark. Beautiful city. Went on the fjord cruise to Geirangerfjorden. Epic stuff. Love Norway.
what are the name and brand of the rear rack and the two anything caches at the fork? Thanks for the videos. hope to do a trip like that some day.
Epic as usual, simply epic mate. One thing baffles me, you've done some off-road stuff riding from Oslo to Stavanger but I feel like that was just a taste of what Norway has to offer. How about an all-gravel journey? Far away from churches (albeit very pretty) and cars, only you and pure wilderness, that would be a different level of awesome. Does Norway provide many rideable paths for such an expedition? Safe journeys and keep on posting those vids!
That was one tight schedule to get the next ferry. No way with my crappy FTP I'd have made it!
Jeg ELSKER videoene dine!! You truly inspire me to explore the country I've lived all my life, but never seen much off. You're such a good story teller as well. Everything about your videos are awesome! The footage, the editing, the humor and ofc the wise words! Thank you for sharing Matthew. Hope to see you cycling with OSI this summer 🤞
I’m a hiker, not a cyclist, but this bike trip through Norway is an exciting way to explore the beautiful coastline and fjords ☺️
Whoever came up with the idea of putting dog shit in plastic bags? Instead of a short term environmental hazard, which rapidly degrades thro weather and insect action, it is transformed into a long term source of pestilence by wrapping in plastic. Here in Scotland on my local cycle route, many of the dog owners discard these bags of filth all over the place. Trees and bushes can be seen with black bags of shit swaying from the branches with regular frequency. It drives me to despair.
I agree with you're enthusiasm around churches on you're bike rides. My main experience in Scandanavia is thro biking in Sweden, the churches there are really beautiful, with imaculate graveyards that are a pleasure to visit. They always have water taps in several places for the gardeners, which are super for cooling off and in most cases, filling bidons, as the water is potable, in most cases . Thanks for another good piece of travelogue.
Cool man, very beautiful places!
Simply beautiful
awesome
Beautiful video!
A+++. "Don't let tomorrow get in the way of today". Wise words.
Hi, I just watched your series bikepacking to the Nordkapp. I’ve done Trondheim to Nordkapp on a touring bike, but next year I want to do it bikepacking. Great to see your series to get an idea. I have a question though: are you on the Schwalbe G-One Allround? How do they cope with the miles and have you been riding them tubeless?
Thanks and keep exploring! 🚲
Love these final thoughts.
Wow! What a beautiful video. Planning my cycling trip to Norway next year & came accross your video. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing.
Hi, how much are the ferries on this route?
Sorry about the poor infrastructure road wise.
Ålesund has been deemed to be the worst city to bike in, in a nationwide study.
how many liters are those red bags on the fork?
Hi Matthew, i like your videos very much. Norway is really one of my favorite countries in Europe. I wonder if you have ever heard of Fulgaz?
Fulgaz is an app which can be used with an interactive trainer for indoor cycling. The routes are all filmed by someone cycling the route with a 4 K GoPro. Anyone can make these rides as long as they meet the minimum required quality. I’m sure your videos will do. The only limitation is not to look left or right but just straight on.
Can you take a look at Fulgaz an perhaps join the community by adding some of your superior rides?
Awesome closing remarks! Love your videography and commentary!😊
Never thought much of Norway. Italy and Britain were on my mind, not to mention New Zealand. How wrong I was. This is now not a matter of a bucket list anymore. A bucket isn't big enough. Norway is at least three buckets full. It's on the list, on my mind, on the calendar. Thank you so much, Matthew. Norway here I come!
Matthew is a winner. 52Km/h is good speed on a heavy cycle 🚴🌟🏋️
Hi Matthew, what kind of gear did you use to mount the orange bags on your carbon fork? 9:50
