Vlog #66 We are cycling the Sun Route (EuroVelo 7 in Italy), Ciclovia del Sole Bicitalia. After a break of almost a week at Lake Garda we continue our journey. The Mori-Torbole bike path is 15,5 km long and connects Valle dell’Adige with Lake Garda. After that we keep following the river Adige, the whole way to Bolzano. We see many vineyards and apple trees.

    1. What a great video. We did this route in June 2019 and it was incredibly hot. (we're in our early 60's and have hybrid bikes – not E bikes)! We started out in Donaueschingen, the source of the Danube and cycled to Fussen where we picked up the Claudia Augusta route through Austria and then the Trentino valley. We also did the Mori-Torbole route as we stayed at lake Garda for 3 nights. When my wife said how she enjoyed the views and downhill ride to the lake I reminded her that we had to also climb it to get back!. We got the train from Rovereto to Innsbruck and cycled part of the Munich to Venice route back to Munich where we got the train back to Donaueschingen where our caravan was parked. The wetland you showed used to be part of lago Di Loppio but in 1954 a tunnel was built between Mori and Torbole to drain water from the Adige into lake Garda as during heavy rain the city of Verona would flood. Part of this construction meant the lake was permanently drained and became wetland.

I'm sat here having to reminisce as coronavirus has deprived us of our cycling trip this year but I guess that's the least of our problems compared to many others.

    2. Hello, my name is Roland Leppek and I've been a big fan of your videos for some time. Like you, I produce videos on cycling that I post on YouTube. Most are vlogs of our bike tours in the US and Europe, but now I’m putting together a video listing many of the longer bike trails in Europe and would love to include some short clips (B-roll) from your video on The Adige Cycle Path. May I have your permission to do so? I would be happy to list your contribution in the credits and a link to your video in the description.

You can take a look at my work here:

      Thank you in advance,
