I was planning on doing a tour during the summer of 2020 but then the world changed. But in September Norway opened it’s border to Sweden for a short period. So I dropped everything and headed for the island of Senja Located 550 km north of the Arctic Circle.

  1. Hej, this video was a welcome surprise. I bet the drive was more tiring than any of the biking.
All those spicy beans, l hope you pegged the tent down well. Tack Ed

  2. So this was a rather short episode due to all the driving to get there. But stay tunes for Episode 2 (coming next week). I'm sure it will be something special. At least, riding that stretch in person was something out of this world!

  3. I've been to Norway 3 times in the past. It's a magical part of the world. Would love to go back without the army kit I was carrying last times I was there. I remember being on patrol on an exercise in mid September and foraging on wild strawberries whilst we took a knee for a listening stop. Looking forward to seeing your journey Mike. take care.

  4. 10 years ago I cycled the north of Senja from Gryllefjord to Botnhamn near the end of a much longer trip which finished in Tromsø. Such great memories, thanks for the reminder.

  5. Absolutely outstanding views Mikael…peaking cinema quality. Hope all is well… Enjoy your trip!
Btw, I'm recognizing that Hoglof logo…intially i mistook it for Under Armour.

  6. Another good video Mike. Beautiful countryside you are cycling through. It was an astute decision to take the opportunity for this tour when it came up. It is impossible to know how things will play out with lockdowns and border closures. It is good your wife and children are happy for you to do these trips.

  7. Good to see you back out Mike , hope you are keeping well . Enjoyed the fist part of the ride looking forward to seeing how this trip goes , the scenery looks stunning . Still in shorts so it cant be that cold ….. yet . atb Dave

  8. Thank you for your wonderful pictures. I just love these scenery and landscapes and being with you on tour. Yours Anders

  9. Hi Mike. I just finished a 1700km tour through my home state of Texas and got home just in time to see you start another tour. Woohoo ! Man I wish I had that kind of scenery here. Looking forward to more. Atb, Tony

  10. Your arctic tour is perfectly timed for armchair bicycle touring during the pandemic. The scenery along with perfectly matched music is very calming. I live in the boreal forest precambrian shield of Northern Saskatchewan Canada. Winter has set in with half a meter of snow already. By the way Mike I really like listening to your accent and clearly spoken English.

  11. Hi Mike, glad to watch in your videos. Could you, please, tell us the temperature once in a while so we can feel the atmosphere and your endurance.

  12. Hello, I congratulate you for the report and the views, I just subscribed and I will follow you in the following videos, greetings and good luck 😊👍☘️

  13. That is a very beautiful place. I have in mind to do some cycling in Sweden, Norway & maybe Finland & Lapland. I'm watching your videos to see what that area of Scandinavia is like. Thanks and he safe. 👍☮️🌞🚲

  14. Thank you, Mike.
Because of the changed world, my little cycle tour did not happen at all… but it is very kind of you to let us share in yours.
Stay well, and keep your family safe, okay?

  15. Really enjoying your videos right now and they are encouraging me to bike longer distances. Thank you for taking the time to record and to post these.
