      Difference being I can actually go and buy the latter if I feel so inclined, and it won’t fall apart under my ass immediately and be completely unserviceable. Don’t think of it as a copy, think of it as a continuation and refinement of a good idea.

    2. I went to an old timey bike rally and there was a guy who claimed to have the first pedal bike made in the US (1865), and he was letting people ride it.

      The frame was wrought iron. The wheels wooden wagon wheels. Pedals were attached to the front wheel.

      He had an 1880s seat on it though, because the original seat was strips of steel and tended to slice up your pants.
