I’m back on the road, continuing my year-long backpacking journey, and this time, I find myself in the charming town of Kuta on the underrated island of Lombok, Indonesia.

    Unveiling Lombok’s Secret Charms:
While many jet off to the bustling shores of Bali, I chose the road less traveled, leading me to the tranquility of Lombok. In this video, join me on a two-day escape, where I delve into the heart of this often-overlooked gem.

    A Day of Two-Wheeled Freedom:
Day two brought the sweet hum of a hired motorbike, propelling me through Lombok’s diverse landscapes. From the mountainous terrains to quaint villages, I rode with the wind, soaking in every moment of this less-explored paradise.

Selong Belanak: A Beach Beyond Words:
My journey led me to one of Lombok’s best-kept secrets—Selong Belanak. A pristine beach tucked away from the tourist hustle, where I basked in the sun, embraced the sea breeze, and indulged in a delightful local Indonesian meal right on the beach.

    Beyond Backpacking Stereotypes:
As an older backpacker from Darlington, England, I’m on a mission to shatter stereotypes. Backpacking is not just for the younger generation, and every step I take is a testament to that.

    1. That was an interesting view of the island and the people trying to sell you things. We have had several days of rain here in NSW, Australia and that was most welcome because properties further north have had some bad fires and then floods. We are lucky to live in a rural area and not affected much except for the rain.

    2. You're getting really good at filming from the bike Stu 😂 how funny that the market people are camera shy, that works better than the earphones hahahaha
