  1. Thanks for sharing that, Gary.
Getting out on the bike always helps my frame of mind. Even my horribly busy commutes to and from work are still usually the best parts of the day as, at least I'm out riding!
In recent years (like many people) I've suffered with anxiety and I'm convinced that I'd be in a much worse place if it wasn't for escaping on my bike for a few hours.
Not being able to get out and ride (even if I might not actually bother!) is a terrible feeling, like being imprisoned. (Both in a physical & mental sense.)

  2. Hi Gary, thankyou for posting.
I agree, my bike is my happy place, happy space etc.
My job can be pretty stressful and intrusive, in as much as it gets into my head, and a nice long pedal gets all the jumbled thoughts in some semblance of order and issues of the day worked out.
I work in adult social care which is obscenely understaffed and under-resourced, the consequence of which to me has been a summer of 100+hour weeks, so the only cycling i’ve done has been my commute, the outward journey can be 30 to 40 miles, after a 48 hour shift its straight home the quickest way, approx 6miles, but those 6miles are two wheeled nirvana, and I am a much nicer less “stabby” person.

  3. Not sure about a bear with a sore arse 😂…but 100% on the benefit of just getting out. Sometimes the hard part is just getting out crippled with anxious doubt, fear (of God knows what???) , but it's never, ever, not been worth it. Being on the bike always makes me feel better. Thanks for sharing RD. Now, what tyres for more miles 🤷🏼‍♂️😉

  4. Riding the bike, turning the pedals, worries get left behind in the wake, for a while. Certainly is my happy place and picks me up, when I'm feeling low. And if I can't ride for a week,I get a bit twitchy 😅
