Are Electric Cars the Future? Should you buy an EV? I’ve owned an Electric Vehicle for over 2 years, The Porsche Taycan All Electric Car and it’s been a living nightmare, so much so that when I was driving my EV from London to Worcester to meet @GeoffBuysCars using the EV Public Charging Infrastructure it left me with sEVere PTSD. Here’s the reality ow EV ownership…

    1. Thank you for this interesting view of parts of UK. The speed cameras are of course a hidden tax. Doesn’t your Porsche Taycan have Adaptive Cruise Control you can setup to keep the speed limit to avoid most of these annoying tickets? Of course, they are clever and will place them right where the speed zones change. It is not about safety for sure, but they will use any excuse.

You should be able to use Tesla SuperChargers with a Porsche Taycan in the UK with a "Magic Dock" CCS adapter. You pay more than Tesla’s for charging, but that is no different than when Tesla’s want to charge at other company’s chargers. It is crazy it is this much work in the UK.

    2. You make it sound like cars are part of the fabric of London. The city is 2000 years old and cars only came about 130 or so years ago.. If they were removed completely they wouldnt be missed. The city is about the people.

    3. I finally got to ride in a Tesla (mates ) moves really well, Young people , grew up with phones, and tablets , so seems natural for them ,his partner uses it to get the shopping ,drop the kids off at school, etc , charged at home (4kw solar panels on roof) its bit boring inside ,sort of glued together,
Tesla s seemed to be just well !transport . – Still the legend car makers ,are here now ! talking of which my mates normal daily car is a merc…

    4. RBS Gogarburn in Edinburgh has 200+ chargers in the car park and all spaces are ICE’d all the time so it appears it was just a woke box ticking agenda to make a propaganda statement

    5. I couldn’t afford an EV – They start at around £24,000. My budget is around the £10,000 mark for a used car and the only cars I could find in that price range was the citroen ami which is a mobility car £7500 or a smart car 🤣 I need my car for my job and a diesel or petrol car is affordable for not so wealthy people like me. So when I see EV owners in their 40 grand cars mocking ICE owners in your comments it pi$$es me off. I am SO glad that you will still be able to buy used ICE cars in the future as I will never be able to afford an EV. Why do EV owners get so angry? Is it because they know its going to cost them upwards of £4000 for a new battery? To replace a polestar 3 battery is almost £10,000 plus the extra cost of removing the old one and fitting the new one, so the cost is even higher 😰 Or do they double down because they are worried they have wasted their money?

    6. As Geoff has said in a previous video, one day all cars will be connected and therefore road pricing or pay per mile will become a reality.
Sad to see you have to temper your dialogue. 😢
Also, good to see the car park near your hotel had an extensive sprinkler network. As EV ownership grows I fear we are going to need greater fire protection systems.

    7. Driving in London gives me PTSD
It’s a shit hole now, it’s set up for cyclists and it’s a nightmare
But the hassle of charging is a whole different pain, I would need therapy if I had an EV

    8. If you'd gone on to the Oxford Ring road there's a huge charging station with canopies (not that you'd have needed to stay dry on that journey) on the north west side of the city. You could then have rejoined the M40 north of Oxford.

    9. A trap car is used where there is a high volume of car crime ( theft of/from). They can get in but not out as it automatically locks, hence trap car. You then get arrested – neat eh!

    10. Had my first ride in an EV on Saturday. It was a Dacia Spring. Price for the basic model here in Romania is €8,990 (inc VAT) with a claimed 230km range. Top of the range model is €20,800 (inc VAT). Unfortunately I didn't notice which model my friend has but with four adults on board the acceleration was quite brisk when he put his foot down to pass a car which had started to pull away just as we drew level with it. It's a city car and suits him for his daily commute within the city since he has a home charger (€730 extra) with a 7kW charging rate and if necessary he can also charge at his workplace.

    11. EVs Lee absolut Fuc…g Fuc…g Fuc…g Fuc…g Fuc…g Fuc…g Fuc…g Shi. ! makes me so angry ! Great vlog i feel your pain even my pc is crying ! Little john from chichester

    12. if you buy petrol or diesel is there a componenet in there that is a charge for road maintenance and construction. If so any EV vehicle should also somehow be charged for the same road maintenance
