I love a quiet commute. I get that for 50% of my journey in the UK. Unfortunately the snow hasn't been cleared on cycle paths and it's half melted now so I can't ride there for a few days now.
There are more people moving through this intersection than through the busy car intersection up the street from me, and at some orders of magnitude lower sound level!
Wish it were like that here in Seoul. The lawmakers and politicians ride their big ass black sedans, so have no clue about what bicycling in Seoul is like, dangerous and life-threatening. This city is way too motorist-centric.
Thigs that are so staggering here: 1. Try to imagine moving all those people with cars. It would need t be like a 3,4 lane each direction road. INSANE amount of space would be needed.
2. Pretty much everybody has lights ON and no helmet + regular cloths. 3. Most of those bike are cheap, basic, beaten up old steel bikes…
And nobody gives a damn about that!
For many here in Poland riding a bike from 90's would be a disgrace and a reason to feel ashemed.
Really something to admire and copy around the world.
Love the choreograph dance of bicycles weaving in and out…. wish we had this in The states. Driving a car in rush-hour is a soulless experience that dehumanizes people.
Mesmerizing and beautiful. The type of bicycle most people are riding definitely helps make it seem more relaxed. Most commuters in my city use road bikes.
Last fall I was out riding my bike and I came to a stop light. It was rush hour and there was a line of cars all stopped on the road. The line of cars stretched out as far as I could see to the east. It probably extended until the light which was a mile away. And the line of cars stretched to the west for about another mile. This was a 4 lane highway leading to suburbia. It was awful! I work at home so I never have to put up with that hellscape on a daily basis.
I started counting riding bicycles in this video.. the first 10 sec >30 cyclists and it went on in the same pace the whole video. Imagine the same number of people transported by cars.. like normal, only one person per car. Cycle infrastructure is worth every cent you spend on it.

It is busy in Utrecht.
But on the bike you will quickly reach your destination.
Not many skippyball lanes so people have to use the bicycle. Very unfortunate.
just what every country need. but politicians, car lobbyist, capitalists, highway concessionaries said: No
Did anyone do a bike count ??
In august a 1000 jubilee video for Mark !!
In the US that street would have been a 6 lane stroad with 4 dead people every year.

What camera equipment did you use to capture such an active scene at night in such fine image quality?
Why is it I can give this clip only 1 'Thump Up' ?
Looks a lot like Tilburg in peak hour when the schools and /or university goes out.
The capacity of bike infrastructure is so undertalked.
My dream 😘👍🌷🌻
Much calmer than London’s road bike wars, much safer too.

Wyd time was this in Dutch time?
Altijd leuk om een helebool mensen te zien fietsen. Hier in Amerika zie ik gewoon meer autos.
A dream country for cycle lovers…
And every single one of those people is not a car!! 😍

Beautiful to see the left turn hand signals

There's 70 bikes a minute in one way on the video. It's 4200 per hour. You need more than 4 lanes of cars to allow this traffic.
Amazing
