I currently ride 29 wheels with 2.2 tires. Would it benefit me overall if I change my wheels to 27.5 wheels with 2.4 tires? I think it would be better in terms of acceleration and easier to move around than the 29ers.

For reference I am 5’7. Gear ratio is 34 x 19. The trails I ride are mostly rolling

Just kidding, but I do find smaller wheels do turn over faster. When I had a 26″ on the rear instead of the 700c of my bike, it definitely accelerated quicker, but I don’t know if a 27.5 is as much of a difference from a 29 to notice similar

If it’s cost effective, give it a shot. Buy a cheap one on marketplace/local classifieds to test it out; sell it if you don’t think it works

I prefer my 27.5 wheelset to the 29er set I have. I think the 27.5 is more fun, more maneuverable and more comfortable. I think the 29er wheels are a little faster in a straight line.

I like wider tires (2.6) on the 27.5 (36mm internal width) too. They take a little more of the edge off the rough stuff.

Keep in mind your bottom bracket will be lower with the 27.5 wheelset and that could cause some pedal strikes.
