We recently spend a week driving the Tesla Model Y. There’s no doubt that it’s very different to many other cars on the market. From how you buy it, to how it’s operated differently, most of which is in a positive way.

Whether you love them, or hate them – there’s no denying that Tesla have been a huge disrupter in the Electric Car space. From pushing many mainstream manufactures to accelerate their EV production and quality, to being a pioneer and an icon in the EV Space.

They Y is available as a RWD with 455km range (€46,990), as a dual motor Long Range with 533km (€53,890) or as a Performance Model which is faster to accelerate from 0-100km/h than a Ferrari California for under €60,000.

Speccing a Tesla is quite simple, you choose the version you want, pick from one of 5 colours and then choose from two or three optional extra including a tow-bar, various auto pilot setting and that’s about it. It’s simple and also quick to be delivered.

Overall we’re a fan, and there’s no doubt that it has been a crucial car for not only the Irish market, but also worldwide.

    Thanks for watching.

    1. A great review. Agree with all the points made. I hired one in France for a week to try one. The ride is just too hard and would put me off. I live in Connemara, roads are not great. It's not that you feel even the slightest of bumps, but can hear them. Model 3 ride is supposed to be far better.

    2. You don't have to go "into the menu" for heated steering wheel or seats. Just drop the icon at the bottom of the screen, it's just like having a button at instant touch. Setting up seats and mirrors, you do that and save to the driver profile. This is the point that some people forget, once set up, there's little need to keep going to the screen to do stuff! I get in, the car sets itself up for me or my wife according to which phone is detected. Nothing to do.
