Today we are joined by @PJAudits as we take a look at CPD Direct, Ipark Industrial Estate, Innovation Dr, Hull HU5 1SG.

As we are watching the forklifts move around PJ notices some dangerous driving so we voice that concern to the forklift driver in the hope he would take the concern on board. He didn’t, so management come out.

    1. Glad to see management are taking the actions of this very dangerous operator seriously, and so they should. He needs to take a real good look at his stupid actions, not forgetting the speed he was traveling with double pallets. Mr F..k off needs some extensive retraining or don't come Monday ever again.

    2. That guy was very dangerous, to think he operates in that manner every day? Will deffo lead to a tragic accident. Very well pointed out, and proves your worth doing these audits. Truly an accident waiting to happen?

    3. I got the impression he has always drove like that and managers/directors don't care aslong as the job gets done. Go back in a months time and he will still be doing the same thing. Dangerous beyond belief

    4. One for all the forklift experts – We had some stock stored at a warehouse, it was on the top rack of a high warehouse. I only needed a few boxes and rather than bring the pallet down to allow the boxes to be taken off, they stuck an empty pallet on the forklift and i had to stand on the pallet and be lifted all the way to the top. Bit of a brown trouser moment when you step forward to get the boxes and the pallet tips forward a bit.

Is this usual behavior in warehouses? I'm guessing it's against all H&S rules. But are the rules usually followed? Is taking shortcuts the norm?

    5. The driver says he has a free run as there is no one in . 1 minute later a guy appears out of nowhere as he approaches blinded by his load. 😮

    6. What I see here is: the guy driving the forklife has been there longer than the managers, so they daren't tell him what to do incase he threatens to leave – because people like him 'are the bread and butter of the company the managers dont wanna rock the boat'.. This attitude is wrong.
Ive seen this happen first person: the best workers in the company were bullying other employees, but the management were turning a blind eye because the bullys would kick up a stink if disaplined. WRONG!

    7. So, even after the management have been verbally advised … they then witness the green forklift driver [Mr Fuck Off] performing these dangerous manoeuvres – and yet even after they witness it with their own eyes – they still fail to IMMEDIATELY intervene and STOP him from doing it time and time again.

    8. Fork Lift Training Co UK – the largest forklift operator training website in the world says:
Travel in reverse if the load obscures the view
If the load obscures the forklift operator's view then the truck should be driven in reverse.
If this cannot be accomplished, forklift operators should seek guidance preferably from a supervisor.

    9. Well Nasty little Compo on the forklift will get a telling off and so he should. i have worked around warehouses and know how bloody dangerousa forklift can be.. too many take it for granted, its a realy heavy little machine and if you cant see where your going 100% then someone can be seriously hurt or even killed.. it is incredible the amount of accidents per year in the uk by sloppy fork lift drivers…. well done for pointing it out and well done to the staff for coming out and taking it seriously….. the women said he dont normally do it etc etc and then boom he done it straight away 2 pallets high …. she must of wanted to strangle him at that very moment ha ah

    10. Pedestrians are not to use overhead doorways as a walk way. What if the spring breaks and the door falls closed.
      It's inside I'm worried about!
Not provideding room inside to back up is all on them. The dangers exist because you created them. Safety through design. Lack of is no excuse. What if someone is bent over in the asle doing inventory or tying shoes. Like you did in the parking lot.

    12. I'm a Forklift truck trainer and assessor. The driver is seriously breaching health and safety, well spotted and raised DJ. The driver is cutting corners to get the job done alot more quickly but at the cost of maybe having a very serious accident and maybe killing someone.

    13. Drove a forklift in a lumber mill for years. With a load you can’t see over you NEVER go forward. Even with a load you can see over you should always reverse as hitting the brakes, or hitting a small block or anything that binds the wheels, the load goes off the forks. Hit the brakes hard to avoid hitting a pedestrian and the load flys off into them you’ve killed or maimed someone.
That driver is a liability to the company.

    14. The warehouse chaps have been doing this type of forklift driving for decades, PJ Knows this ! His mitigation is probably , it's only shithouse and Kitchen towel rolls no weight if it drops on someone !!
More Disturbingly, I've seen full height 1 tonne paper reels and bails, moved around the yard in this manner back in the day 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
