An attempt to travel all the way around London in a day by bike. A complete Loop through back alleys, parks and quite a few dog poos. It is 74 miles, we are unfit but we are on electric bikes.

Richard joins on his custom-made cargo bike, I am on the Engwe P26. Engwe gave us this bike to test out, free of charge, so I thought what better test than a very long bike and tricky bike ride.

The bike we’re testing is a good value electric assist commuter bike and it did us proud. I have since cycled 300 miles on the bike and it has been very comfy and reliable and the battery returns good mileage. Here’s a link to their website (I am not taking a commission).

The loop is called the Capital ring and is made up of 15 sections, each a walk of quite a few hours. We attempt to do all the sections in a day which is 78 miles in total. We did this in the autumn so not the longest of days for sunlight.

    1. The body is exhausted almost as much as the battery, the shorts however are doing great! Love it! I love going along with you and your mates on your adventures.✌️❤

    2. Loved it Harry!

Though I identify (and you probably consider / associate me) as Bristolian, I'm a Londoner by birth. So it was lovely to travel some of my old haunts with you and Richard. All shot in your own inimitable style of course!

      Big Love,
      Jim ❤

    3. Great video my friend but only one correction. That was not Crystal Palace Football ground you pointed out. It was the sport centre inside Crystal Palace park.

    5. Another great video! I’d love to have heard the conversation…
wanna go for a bike ride?
Yea where do you want to go?
Errrrm how about around London?? 😂 . Everyone should have a friend that’s always up for an adventure!

    6. Cool to see the Tate and Lyle sugar factory pointed out! My grandad worked for Tate and Lyle and worked on the recipe to stop their golden syrup from crystallising, dad said as a kid he’d come home with little pots of golden syrup to watch and see if they crystallised

    7. Harry — a bit of a strange request, but can we get a Spotify playlist of all the tracks?! Fantastic alway video as always. Cheers.

    8. Beautiful film and, as always, a different way to look at the world you may see every day. I love your narrative style in that the premise has a basis in history juxtaposed with the modern view while sprinkled with visual commentary. This film's stark contrasts was a bit less subtle but equally as brilliant.

    9. so epic! dont envy your saddle soreness but do envy the awesome trip. is really hard to plan ebike routes as all the speed/distance references are to cars or pure pedal power. must get a camera for my own bike 😀

    10. At 44.25 you missed an important piece of british motoring history….first recorded motor vehicle accident where driver died…Grove Hill Harrow

The first crash to cause the death of a car passenger occurred on 25 February 1899 at Grove Hill, Harrow. Major James Stanley Richer, 63, died four days after the accident without regaining consciousness. The driver, Mr E.R. Sewell, had been demonstrating the vehicle, a Daimler Wagonette, to Major Richer, Department Head at the Army & Navy Stores, with the view to a possible purchase for the company. Mr Sewell was killed on the spot, becoming the first driver of a petrol-driven car to die in an accident.
