Today we explored two castles in Fuessen Munich. It was Schloss Neuschwanstein and Schloss Hohenschwangau .It was King Ludwig 2nd and his dads castle. We took a horse carriage up to the castles. It was a stunning view over the German Alps.and the alpsee then we hiked up to the Marienbruecke where we had a fantastic view on both castles.the alpsee was stunning

    1. I was there when I was a kid. Deutschland ist allzeit sehr schön auf einen besuch zu gehen. That's my pathetic attempt at German. I'm I Dutch speaker. This winter, I'll be in Hamburg before I head to Japan. I'm always looking for an excuse to be in Germany, even for a short time.

    2. Another great video GiV. I like the voice over (in all of them) and as for the Arnie impersonation…awesome. You sound just like him. The Wiesn vids are great by the way 🙂. I was there a few years so lovely reminder.

    3. I love the comedy and references videos in between, I think that’s something that fits you pretty good and will benefit the channel more. Great videos of Germany. Thanks

    4. From 1871, Ludwig had an additional secret income in return for a political favour given to Otto von Bismarck. The construction costs of Neuschwanstein in the King's lifetime amounted to 6.2 million German gold marks (equivalent to €47 million in 2021), almost twice the initial cost estimate of 3.2 million marks.

    5. The story of his death was strange. He either committed suicide, or was murdered. The castle is not medieval, it was completed in 1892. He might have been biosexual and chose castles over war. I read several books on story and there is a full movie on YouTube with subtitles. Many say it is their favorite movie.

    6. WOW WOW WOW. Memories. Been to the castle many times and you have to see in person. Living in Germany was the highlight of my life as a military family member. I traveled all over Europe. Thank you GIV. It’s true when you live at a place you don’t see the value. If I could I would live there.
God bless you and again thanks.
      A MUST GO!!!!!

    7. I understand the need for restoration, etc., but at some point is it even the same castle anymore? It almost looks too modernized somehow. Artificial maybe – which is better than falling into ruin I suppose.
