Welcome to the Ultimate Victoria BC Neighbourhoods Guide where all 13 municipalities are ranked in Victoria BC! Where is the best place to live in Victoria BC?

If you are thinking about moving to Victoria BC or evaluating what the best cities in Canada are, you might want to know what the pros and cons of the different neighbourhoods here are. In this episode, we unpack the 13 different municipalities that make up Greater Victoria and discuss the pros and cons of each. In summary, I’m looking for the most well-rounded neighbourhood in Greater Victoria.. let’s find out if you agree!

Although I’m an expert in the Victoria BC Real Estate market, the capital of British Columbia is also my hometown. I love living in Victoria Canada. Although I’m a little biased as an Esquimalt resident, there are so many incredible neighbourhoods and communities on the southern island. Victoria BC neighbourhoods offer a ton of variety and wherever you find yourself, its difficult to find a lot of downsides to living in Victoria BC.

Before moving here, you may be asking yourself:

Where is the best place to live in Victoria BC? What’s the best neighbourhood? Are there good areas and bad areas? Is Victoria one of the best places to live in BC? Is Victoria the best city in Canada? Is Victoria one of the best places to live in Canada?

I want to answer all of those questions in this video and elaborate more on what I feel is the best city to live in BC!I moved away from the west coast to pursue a university education in Kingston, Ontario and a dream of playing in the Canadian Football League, but once that dream came and went (after seasons in Saskatchewan and Montreal), I always knew I would return back to Vancouver Island. It’s a special place to call home and I feel it’s the best city in BC, and potentially the best city to live in Canada. There’s a whole bunch of reasons why living in Canada is great. But Victoria is better because the natural beauty from sea to sky is unmatched, the schools in Victoria BC are top notch, there are great activities, arts, and entertainment all at your doorstep, and it’s the perfect size!

    1. Wow great video Alex! I was literally just doing independent research for 3 days on all of the areas in greater Victoria when i found your video today (I live on in the Vancouver area).
I love the feeling of Vancpouver Island and the slower pace and would like to move over in 2024. Magical place. This was a great overview and great way to end my search although I will have to watch it a few more times.

Oak bay is gorgeous but not in the budget. Saanich was not even on my radar. I love what you said about all of the amazing beaches and nature spots in Sooke and it is high on my list but it does seem a bit far out with only one main road to get there so could be slow going. If I am able to get a house I would wait for something in Metchosen.
It is half way between really wild nature and downtown city life. I am looking for a private living in nature sanctuary feeling but still close enough to go downtown regularly to attend kick boxing classes ect or to go out for dinner so Metchosin is the Ideal but sooke will probably be more realistic.

I just subscribed and will contact you when I am ready to buy! Depnds how my business does in the next 10 months and will determin if I go condo or house but I will be there 🙂
      Cheers

    2. Truly excellent video Alex! I will forgive you for your slight Esquimalt bias 😂 but other than that, the info provided is solid. Anyone looking for a great realtor in the CRD should strongly consider Alex – he provided excellent service to my wife and I when we purchased in early 2023.
