Maidstone Half Marathon is my local half marathon. Despite this, this was my first time taking part.

Organised by the Maidstone Harriers Running and Triathlon club, in partnership with Sporting Events UK, I’d heard that this was a great half marathon and I wasn’t disappointed!

Starting at the scenic Mote Park in Maidstone, the route takes runners through the park and onto the main Ashford road, through the traditional village of Hollingbourne, along the historic Pilgrim’s Way road, before cutting down into the village of Bearsted and finishing at race HQ back at Mote Park.

I rocked up at the start line on what was a stunning October morning ready and excited to take part. Here’s how it went!

    1. Did this back in the early 90's…. cycling from Tunbridge Wells and running 1:28 off the back of the bike over ( nice warm up 🙂 )…. nice course from what I remember…… not sure if it's the same course though 🤔 Did start and finish at the park though, so maybe

    2. Hey Craig. I ran this and was just behind you on your introduction and resisted the urge to photobomb you 😂. Congrats on the time that’s a superb effort. I absolutely loved this race and it was probably my best run to date. Perfect weather, great marshalling on the main roads and great public support 🔥
