The passion and enthusiasm of the Icelandic mountain biking community is truly contagious. Despite facing significant challenges such as limited resources and environmental restrictions, these riders and trail builders continue to work tirelessly to create more mountain biking opportunities.

    1. well done guys, i rode lanndmannalauger (i know i fucked that) like 6 years ago and had some awesome descents and heaps of hike a bike but who cares when its so shockingly beautiful. I also rode a trail closer to Reykjavik that i think the ice bike dudes built it was right next to a big ass power plant, some really fun stuff but had one hike a bike on a snow felid where if i fell i would have taken a death fall down a cliff and waterfall. more trails and more beta please, would love to go back to Iceland to dig and ride.

    2. I’m looking at doing a master’s degree in Iceland, and I took two things away from this that will definitely impact my choice: 1) Iceland would be a great place to shred and build trails, and 2) that I’ll need to STAY ON THE TRAILS.
      Epic video…thanks!

    3. I always thought Iceland looked so bland and depressing and I think I've just figured out why, Where's all the forests? I'm guessing something to do with soil acidity etc?

    4. This is a first video i have ever seen from you and its spectacular. The storytelling and cinematography is excellent. Can i ask you about the gear you used for this? Also the color grading is on another lever, did you hand-correct each frame or have you used LUTS. Thank you for creating this amazing piece. Im subscribing immediately.

    5. I’ve been to Iceland 4 times and I’m coming back in June my first time in the highlands I thought it would be so cool to ride a mtb there and here it is wow next summer I’m coming back with my bike

    6. This isn't just an Icelandic issue. Sensitive expansion of mountain biking trail resources with care and respect for our environment is crucial for the continuing advancement of our sport. Involving the local communities to underpin all the success stories about mountain biking venues is fundamental. We MNTBers must learn to care for country. We can learn much from indigenous traditional owners.
      Thanks for this thought-provoking video.

    7. as a biker and someone who hiked in iceland it immediately sent shivers down my spine seeing the single tire tracks in the moss. thank you for correcting the mistake and explaining why its so important in iceland to stay on track

    8. 0:03 what's the secret of doing that trick? Is there any video how to do that? I see pro doing that, but I didn't see any step-by-step about that. BTW, this video is awesome and scary at the same time. Imagine riding those trails alone….

    9. I was just there last week on vacation and saw a few trucks full of mtb. I thought wow this probably is a great place to do it. My next trip I hope to get some riding in!

    10. Any Icelanders out there interested in coming to Oregon to ride and getting hosted? Then us coming there to ride. i am thinking a week or so. K

    11. Mark- Congrats to you and your production team on a great film. It captures some amazing rides/scenery and covers some very important subject matters. We have been looking forward to this film since meeting you and your team in the van on the way back to Keflavik International Airport last September.

    12. If we can claim the same things about the sustainability of mountain biking in Iceland in 10 years from the making of this video then we've done it right. PLEASE KEEP THIS WILD NATURAL TREASURE AS WHAT IT IS!!!
Thank you for this sensitive film spreading awareness!

    13. PELASE help me to understand, SHEEP can run around and fucken DESTROY the shitty little plants you have (which used to be actual trees at one time) befcause sheep are TERRIBLE terrible terrible for the land, and one asshole on a bike is going to ruin the iceland; biology, geopolitics, and religion or whatever…. how does that work, OH I KNOW, sheep farmer makes a large cash donation to the politician so they can keep fucking the land to death….

    14. Awesome! But don't get used to it mate… elites, bureaucrats & authoritarian governments are in the process of shutting DOWN public land for recreational usage. Under the GUISE of environmental protection of sensitive areas. Basically , one will need a permit for LIMITED trail use only on SOME designated trails. Most trails will be OFF limits. Time to eradicate those in charge…

    15. Amazing! I met some riders from Iceland in Innerleithen, they were so into MTB it was unreal! So humble and loving the scene growing in Iceland. A very short flight from Glasgow so I'd be tempted to go and ride there after watching this.
